There's reports out here in Cali that SF is not interested in acquiring Revis.

Blown coverage? Maybe

Beaten in man to man? Ok, I'm sure there are examples.

Diva-like missed tackles from Champ? I'd like to see that video compilation.....

Rewatch the entire BALT playoff game.
Thanks for playing.

And please, spare us all the claims that this is his only bad preformance.
Climb down off of champs tiny pubes, dude.

This discussion has NOTHING to do with if a player has a bad game here and there, it has to do with the level of these 2 players. (BAILEY-REVIS)
Revis is as good as Champ ever was in his prime. I dont care if you or some other poster disagree, thats irrelevant. Its my opinion, and it isnt going to change, because TT made a great run. TT did that to MANY really great players that year.

Champ had zero missed tackles in the Baltimore playoff game.

Revis is definitely the best CB in the NFL but no CB was as good as Champ in his prime during the most recent era of the game.
Champ is Jordan, Revis is Kobe. both are good, one is better and it's the former not the latter.
1st. Darrel Green and Sanders are the best ever.
And Sanders couldnt tackle to save his life.
2nd. If your opinion is that Champ was better in his prime, good for you. I diagree. Thats all.
But man, there are some posters stuck waaaaay up Champs rear end here.
The Champ is Jordan thing just is priceless. Seriously dude. Wow. Just wow.

Be my guest. While you're digging:

John Lynch on Champ's 2006 season.

Rod Smith (the guy who cut his teeth with Elway) said Champ was the greatest football player he'd ever played with.

Soco: "Champ's aaaight, but he's no Derrelle 'The Holdout' Revis"

Champ had 18 picks in two seasons. In the holdout's best two seasons, he managed 11. He has 19 career.

I'm a champ supporter, but its hard to say he had zero missed tackles when his reciever is running into the endzone. Champ was abused that game.

Gee, teammates giving accolades to one of their own. Gosh, slow down with all the love.
Lets see if Revis who has not played as long as Champ can equal him in 2 seasons, before we start sucking on how great Champ is.
By the way, i never said i didnt like champ. Lovehim, but the hanging on his little dingleberries is fun to watch.
Go get more.

Your not alone. Revis is at least as good if not better in my opinion than Champ in his prime. And I think very highly of Champ and he is/was a great corner. But if you take the Orange and Blue glasses off, you will know Revis if he can stay healthy and continue at his rate, has potential to be the greatest ever! Especially with all the incredible athletes in today's game, that says alot!

Poor coverage, or got beaten? Sure. But he was not in a position to tackle either receiver, which is a requirement for a missed tackle.

I knew this was gonna happen. Its all good, man.
I hold no ill will against anyone who thinks champ is the Jordan of football.
Its cool, i get it. And along with that emotional feeling towards a player, your going to get alot of huge hate and blowback from anyone suggesting otherwise.
No worries. We all have a right to our opinion.

I'll take your word for it. I know Revis is good... I've always just assumed that they're both about the same (Revis and Champ in their prime).

Not a valid argument to say that one guy is better because it's still possible for him to be better someday. That logic would always say the younger player is better.

Depends on how you grade missed tackles. He missed on both of the TD's technically, but some idiots would not grade that as a missed tackle

So, when the receiver has beaten Champ and is well down the field, meaning Champ has no chance of tackling said receiver, you would grade it as a missed tackle?

Not really, if you follow the discussion, it was purely about tackling, not coverage.

Completely valid.
And it doenst matter if you like it or not, were gonna find out as Revis is given his due time to prove it so.
Revis is the best CB in the NFL, regardless of the injury.

Revis may be the best CB in the league right now, but he isn't better than what champ was in his prime. I having lived in the DC area for years including when champ played there have seen enough to know revis isn't quite there yet.
I am a fan of Darrel green,it fustrates me that he rarely gets brought up when talking about great CBs. A class act.
I think revis by the end of his career could end up one of,if not maybe the best of all time, but he's no where near that. I think people are buying into the hype of revis.

Actually, Peyton had two plays that were closer to missed tackles than any of Champ's.

Now your cherry picking.
It has always been about if Revis is as good as Champ in his prime. In every aspect.
Listen, i like champ as much as anyone. Great, great player.
But i also can see that Revis has all the qualities that Champ has, and is
to me, considered on the same par with Champ in every way. Healthy of course.
If thats blasphemy to you, too bad.
