I expected him to still be around in the fifth. If I'm in an NFL FO, I don't touch this guy prior to UDFA.

I was planning on pouncing at the top of the 4th.

Did you see the combine? Gunther had to hide his wood while he was watching the drills. Scheme wise he was the most fluid in the drills.

He's better than Clairborne was.

I'm high on Tyrann. Hope he gets it together.

I hope you're right. There are a couple other CBs that I have my eye on as well, but they don't move like Tyrann.

Pretty crazy Kevin Minter and John Jenkins fell as far as they did. I think both have a high probability of going in Round 1 come April.

Extremely crazy with Mathieu going in Round 2. Especially with a few really good CBs still on the board.

Watching him at the combine, I got the impression of a decently talented corner who is a little short with a whole lot of walking headcase dragging behind him. I think if he goes sooner than the middle of the 2nd round its a reach.

I doubt he goes before round 4, but he's one of the best FOOTBALL players (not athletesor prospects) in the draft.

I highly doubt he would have lasted to where I pick in the 4th. So it was take him now or a few picks later in the 3rd. I just thought this made for better TV.

I get it. Not knocking it because I love the kid and think his issues are amusing and mostly harmless, just what I think will happen.

I don't think Al Davis has ever drafted a CB with a 4.43 forty.

Risk/reward pick with the Honey Badger. Character drops him a few rounds, but he easily has top talent as a cover corner, return man, etc.

Very interesting picks. A lot of great players went off the board recently and there are still a plethora of 2nd round guys left as we near the third round.

Lots of good players still left on my board.... A great year to have plentyof 2nd and 3rd round picks, a la the 49ers.

Ravens go with Menelik Watson, the nasty Nole. Probably a solid value pick at this point in time. He is raw, as I have noted, but it appears some teams are giving him first round consideration. I suppose this is the heir apparent to McKinnie?

Are we going to pause this when the second round is complete? With the compensatory selections being announced soon, it would make sense. I am in favor of this because some of those compensatory selections could be used for teams who don't have a third rounder or would like to move back up even higher to be able to do so and not miss out on some prospects.

It would also give people time to re-evaluate their boards and set them up for the long haul.

What does everyone else think?

I SAY DO IT.

As the guy with the first pick in the third and no compensatory picks, obviously I vote no.

Don't they count at the end of the third anyways? Three teams are rumored to have thirds, KC, Texans, and Titans.

Yeah, it's extremely rare to get a comp pick prior to the 3rd Round, and even the 3rd Round is few and far between. Plus, they aren't tradeable anyway unless you guys are doing different rules for this game.

Yeah, but I'm saying that if we stopped after the second -- the following would happen:

(A) We can all re-valuate our draft boards. Make sure we know what guys have been picked (cough -- TRAVELER -- cough) and re-set them accordingly.

(B) Teams receiving compensatory selections would have the ability to move up into the third round or move up higher elsewhere and get their guy. I think this is very fair. It gives everyone (outside those not receiving compensatory selections) to operate on a more fair playing ground.

We don't know what all picks would be announced. Why should people be denied their shot at a player on their board whom they rate highly? For instance -- say a team likes Jimmy Beanboy from UCLA -- but they lack a third rounder. What if that team gets two fourths in the compensatory round and would then have the ability to make a trade for him and get them?

I honestly think it is the best route to go. I know I would certainly like to know what picks the Bengals may or may not be getting so I can analyze the rest of my board, slot players and project possible trades.
