I'll play this game. 1. Manti Te'o 2. Kevin Minter 3. Eddie Lacy 4. John Jenkins 5. Matt Elam On a personal level, I'd put Kawann Short at the top of the list, but he's not the type of DT we are interested in. |

With the depth at DB we can address it after round one..
Rhodes, Trufant, Milner will be gone.. I don't want a RB in round one.. I see serious depth at WR, don't need to reach.. DLine has serious depth.. That leaves OLine (depth) and ILB (we have starters apparently?) In conclusion we are in good position to take BPA or spend a luxury pick.. |

Hard for me to imagine that being the case.
Eiffert should be gone to the Rams, Bears, or Packers before us. Ertz won't be the best available player by a long shot. Patterson and Allen will be gone at WR. That leaves Hopkins, Woods, Hunter, Williams, and Austin. None of which appear to be of extreme value in late round 1, but could be options I suppose. I just don't see much difference between they and WRs like Patton, Swope, Bailey, and Wheaton that could be available in the late 2nd. Austin is unique, but much of his value is redundant with what Holliday gives us. If we're talking pure BPA, you're probably looking at Tank Carradine, Datone Jones, and Damontre Moore. We could look in that direction to build pass rush depth, but it's not likely. I think for us, it will come down to a MIKE LB, (I don't buy for a second that our future MIKE is Irving or Johnson), a Box Safety (though first round is a long shot since Adams has another year of starting), a RB (Lacy is everything Fox wants), and DT (we've been interviewing every giant Nose Tackle we can find, makes sense we'd be interested in Jenkins or Hankins). I mean, I view our options as: Te'o, Minter, Lacy, Jenkins, Hankins, Elam, Reid, Cyprien, and Amerson. With heavy odds on Minter or Lacy. |

I'm still on the Jesse Williams bandwagon for the Broncos at 28. He's a perfect fit: A NT who takes a double team on every play.

Ever. If the safety in question cant do it all, then he isnt going in round 1. Damontre Moore is useless to DEN and is in a current freefall. I can bench press 12 reps at 225 without warming up. Thats pathetic and word on the street is theres clearly something physically wrong with him. Datone Jones or Tank Carradine!?!??! MUG C'mon man. |

Whats also really funny is that everyone claims that "That guy will be long gone"
when reffering to players going before #28. Hey guys, theres only 27!!! Freakin picks ahead of us!!!! Em Kay!!?!? All of these guys cant be gone. If theres a run on WRS then that means that Trufant or even Rhodes will be there. If theres a run on CBs then theres gonna be some really good WRs still there. And if both the WRs and the CBs are gone then theres gonna be some seriously top tier talent at DT and ILB (Te'o) will be there. SOMEONES GOTTA STILL FREAKIN BE THERE. Not all these teams are lookin for a ILB or a CB. Have some faith guys. |

Tank Carradine is a Top 15 talent on film. Had he not injured his knee, that is where he would be selected. There is no doubt about it. I bet he goes in the first-round (pending medicals) come April.

Its very plausible that Te'o or Trufant are there at #28. Alot of folks act like EVERY possible player will be looooong gone by the time DEN picks. |

Short is the same exact size as Justin Bannan. So I don't buy the 'he's not the type we're looking for' argument. Short is definitely a good DT prospect, who I would consider taking at #28. The only problem with him is, he's 24 years old, and he has an inconsistent motor. His college production is pretty close to what you want out of a 1st round pick at DT.

Robert Alford is 25 years old apparently. No wonder he's looking good against 22 year olds. Same goes for Margus Hunt.
Mayock and Andrew Mason both have Hunt as a 1st rounder now...which I don't think is accurate. He has a fast outside rush (4.6 forty), and long arms...but no other moves. I guess they're basing it more on upside than anything, but he's already 26 so... I like how Hunt consistently split the G/OT during the bowl game, but that was Fresno State. Hunt wasn't able to do much of anything during the Senior Bowl. I thought Datone Jones played better and more consistently and is 3 years younger. Last edited by pricejj; 03-02-2013 at 02:47 PM.. |
