NFL | Star Lotulelei update
Mon, 25 Feb 2013 09:12:10 -0800

Utah DT Star Lotulelei (heart) has been told he can continue working out on his own, according to a person informed of the conversations between doctors and Lotulelei, after withdrawing from the NFL Scouting Combine because of an abnormal heart exam. The person said it's hoped that it's not a heart condition but rather dehydration, too much sodium in his diet or rapid weight loss in a short timeframe that prompted tests to reveal his heart wasn't pumping at full capacity. Lotulelei dropped almost 10 pounds in three days recently, in part because of the hectic schedule of traveling to the combine. Lotulelei did not fail his physical but rather was given an incomplete designation pending a consultation with a specialist.

Seems like a good player for a team that runs a 3-4

I love when guys compete, but its hard to blame those guys when their pro days are huge!

Why risk injury at the combine? But as I said I would rather have them, ALL compete if they attend

Here is my problem with it. They try and say this is the biggest job interview of your their lives yet they don't interview.

I think of it like this, you and others going to a office to interview infront of national TV while others get to interview from the comfort of thier own house.

Probably feel the best I've felt in 5-6 years now. I'm definitely going back to law now that I'm finally getting better after such a long time. I'll re-open my family law practice if that's the only avenue left to me, but I'd like to join a firm and try personal injury or creditor's rights. Family law can be pretty depressing. We'll see if anybody will take a shot on a guy that's been out of action for awhile though and comes with medical issues. If not, family law it is.

Definitely appreciate it, it would be a lot of fun. I just know I won't be available.

I like Cyprien but there are some mid round SS prospects that I think are just as good..

I think I would be a little disappointed..

Arkansas RB Knile Davis' "Speed Score" of 124.5 is the second highest ever recorded by Football Outsiders based on player build and speed.
The "Speed Score" uses a mathematical formula in an attempt to measure speed given size. Speed Score has plenty of historical flaws, but has accurately predicted busts like Knowshon Moreno while forecasting Chris Johnson and Brandon Jacobs' success. The all-time leader in "Speed Score" is current Broncos RB Mario Fannin (125.5), who went undrafted out of Auburn and has done nothing in the NFL. Nevertheless, Davis has a special speed-size combination and will be a mid- to late-round pick to monitor in the 2013 preseason.

100% if by some miracle he fell to #28.

I don't get caught up in 40 speed for LBs, as long as he doesn't run it in a 5.0..

He has exceptional instincts on the field, is always around the ball, and is typically a sure tackler. He has one bad game the past two years, fortunately for us it was when the whole nation was watching..

I like what he said during the press conference, it's not like the Catfish issue wasn't on his mind in the BCS championship, we would be foolish to think otherwise.

I don't have him falling to us..

Denver has talked and interviewed with Kwame Geathers and TJ Barnes in Mobile. The two guys I mentioned as mid-round steals for us and perfect fits for our defense. GET IT DONE BIIIIITHCHEHS!

Georgia Tech DT T.J. Barnes said he's spoken with the #Broncos. Measured at 6-foot-6.2 & 369 pounds. Down from 378 2 wks. ago, he said.

Rewatch the BCS title game. You tell me who you would pick between Lacy and Te'o...it's not even close.

If you didn't tape it, imagine Joe Mays chasing around Adrian Peterson.

No brainer of the century.

Geathers, Barnes NTs

Boyd, Hill DTs

I have other prospects in mind for both positions..even in the mid round range.

This means probably no early DT/NT..

You cannot seriously think Te'o is Mays and Lacy is Peterson..

They are completely different than Geathers/Barnes. Makes me wonder if they are sticking Wolfe at DE.

I saw that on one of the Denver Bronco sites..

Yeah they looked at both a DT and a NT..

I really like other prospects even in that range..

Teo blames slow 40 time on Combine stress

Posted by Mike Florio on February 25, 2013, 9:21 PM EST

AP
Former Notre Dame linebacker Manti Teo has refused to blame his poor performance during the BCS national title game on the stress resulting from the knowledge that, inevitably, the story of his fake dead girlfriend would be exposed.

On Monday, Teo blamed his poor performance during the 40-yard dash on the overall stress of the Scouting Combine.

I was running near a 4.6, a 4.5, Teo told NFL Network after officially clocking a 4.82-second 40-yard dash. Today was just a long, long day.

Teo called the Combine a very exhausting process, explaining that he got to bed late and got up early, with roughly four hours of sleep per night.

Of course, Teo experienced plenty of mental stress, too. He met with 20 teams individually, and he endured a packed-house press conference on Saturday.

He promises to have an improved showing at the Notre Dame Pro Day workout. [People can expect] better numbers, Teo said. [I will be] rested. One day you hit it hard and then you are done.

Rested or not, Teo will have even more pressure on him when its time to run again.

The more I hear from Te'o the more I'm scared to draft him.
