Gas Prices Soar 51 Cents in Just Two Months

Consumers are taking another huge hit in 2013. First, the two percent Social Security tax hike began the year. Now, gas prices are soaring ever closer to $4 a gallon and have jumped 51 cents a gallon since Dec. 20.

According to the Oil Price Information Service, the national average for a gallon of unleaded was $3.21.9 on Dec. 20, 2012. Today, that price is $3.73.0. While there has been a steady increase, prices shot almost 9 cents just over the weekend.

This President’s Day also marked a full month of rising gas prices every single business day, following a very small early year drop. Gas prices began rising Jan. 18, from $3.29.3-a-gallon, and have soared since. If this increase continues, gas prices could threaten or even top the all-time high price of $4.11, set in 2008.

Yet nobamas stand on anything carbon based is IMO killing the economy. Shutting down the coal industry before they have viable answers in place is doing. Nothing but driving up costs..
Taking a huge part of the food industry out of the food market place and mandating ethanol is driving up costs for beef and chicken.

Not allowing drilling on federal lands, turning coal country into national wide life refuges (cliton)

Wasting time on keystone.

No new refinery being built since God only knows.

Yep all of those things are causing prices to rise.

Sheriffs Can 'Inspect' Homes for Gun Storage under Democrat Bill

Is this just the beginning? Not only is Big Brother watching, but if the Democrats in Washington State have their way, sheriffs will have the power to "inspect" homes to make sure people are storing their firearms properly. What's next?

As reported in The Washington Times, the bill "would allow local sheriffs to enter homes of gun owners to ensure their weapons are properly stored."

The bill, pushed by Democrats, allows police to search where and how assault weapons are stored — as well as how safely they are stored, according to its text, listed in the state’s online legislative directory as SB 5737-2013-14.

The bill reads: “In order to continue to possess an assault weapon that was legally possessed on the effective date of this section, the person in possession shall … safely and securely store the assault weapon. The sheriff of the county may, no more than once per year, conduct an inspection to ensure compliance with this subsection.”

Infowars.com notes that the Democrats are now backpedaling from their position because, "if enacted, the law will allow police to search without a court-issued search warrant the homes of owners of legally purchased firearms."

Sen. Adam Kline of Seattle, a Democrat who is described by the Seattle Times as “hyper-attuned to civil-liberties issues,” sponsored the legislation without reading the eight page bill. “I made a mistake,” he told the newspaper. “I frankly should have vetted this more closely.”

The primary sponsor of the bill, Sen. Ed Murray, also a Democrat from Seattle, condemned the bill subsection authorizing police to search homes without a warrant. He said the plan to harass and intimidate legal gun owners is probably unconstitutional.

What are these people thinking? Will they put together any left wing garbage bill as long as there is no uproar? Do we really have to be on guard 24-7 to make sure America is still America? I guess so.

These people have no sense at all. They are violating the freedoms that make us Americans, and even worse, they are doing it all in the name of trying to "solve a problem." Well, here's a message for those on the left, passing bills that make it harder for law-abiding citizens to possess firearms only gives criminals an even bigger advantage.

NObama Admits: ‘Energy Is Going to Be a Little More Expensive’

During a Friday Google+ hangout session, President Barack NObama conceded that his policies to address climate change will raise energy costs, a fact that could prove uncomfortable for Democrats in areas reliant on fossil fuel power plants:

I have to tell you that there are some Democrats, for example, who represent states or districts that are heavily reliant on old power plants and are more heavily manufacturing based. And the truth is that if you produce power using old power plants, you’re going to be emitting more carbon, but, to upgrade those plants means energy is going to be a little more expensive, at least on the front end.

This is not the first time Obama has admitted to supporting price-raising energy policies. In 2008, then-candidate Obama said he was fine with soaring energy prices so long as they helped curb green house gas emissions. “Under my plan of a cap and trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket,” he said.

Yesterday the Colorado House passed four gun control bills, one of which bans ammunition magazines that hold more than 15 rounds. Magpul Industries, a company that produces some of the highest quality ammunition magazines around, has threatened to leave the state and take hundreds of jobs with it if this legislation is passed by the Senate and signed into law by Governor John Hickenlooper.

Formed in Colorado in 1999 by a former Marine, the successful Colorado company Magpul Industries employees over 200 people and offers over 500 polymer products.

But it’s one of their products that has garnered national attention, and controversy.

It’s the 30-round rifle magazine designed for the AR-15 and the military M4 and M16 rifles.

Famously or infamously known as the high capacity magazine.

It accounts for almost half of all sales at Magpul. “It’s the standard that’s used in our military as well as allied militaries. With state, federal and local law enforcement as well as hunters, recreational shooters, competitors and responsible citizens all over the united states,” says Duane Liptak, director of Magpul Dynamics in Erie, Colorado.
