Soccer can make it less "suck", by adding cheerleaders...

I love watching my seven year old play soccer. But grown men? No.

I hate stories like this. It's awesome the kid doesn't let it limit him so don't insult what he's accomplished by stuff like calling him "one of the top kids in his gym class" or whatever. The accomplishment speaks for itself without having to make up some trivial accolade.

Awwww, it's okay, 'atheist, I remember you for a heartless bastard ( ;-) !) back when I posted in the WaRP section more often. I still drop in there once in a while for turds & giggles, but that's about it. It's off-season mode anyhow, and I just threw this out there like chum in the water to see who would hit it. Ahem. So to speak. |

Only people who are ignorant of the sport think soccer sucks.

Carlos mencia did a bit about Iraqi TV....a spoof of Two and a half men...in the skit two guys are going out of the house to play soccer and ask their friend who is stuck in a wheelchair with no legs if he wants to join them.....
He replies, "What is wrong with you insensitive bastards? Can't you see I have no cleats?" |

Adult soccer sucks to watch. I just took my U10 Boys team to sectionals after winning Area. I love youth soccer and especially the excitement of arena soccer. They actually score in the last two scenarios. |

This about sums up that sport for me. Fun to play, but a snoozefest to watch. |

Pretty amazing but doesn't mean the sport is good now. Soccer still sucks in my book.

Many people have seen certain things and have no interest in learning about it. Nothing wrong with that. I've seen soccer here and there, and it has never interested me enough to learn about the sport. It is what it is.

Great story and I think soccer for kids is great. There's a reason it's the most popular sport in the world and that is because all you need is a ball and a field to play it on. While I know the top soccer players in the world are awesome at what they do, I still don't feel the need to pay attention to the sport. The threatrics are also disappointing, as well as the soccer hooligans that invade the sport.

Good for the kid. That is a huge accomplishment to try out for the team in Barcelona. I wonder what kind of shoes they will develop for him.
