Default Wider NFL football fields?

Could there be an NFL field change on the horizon? With all the concern lately about concussions and various injuries with so many NFL players, it's being rumored that a field change may be ahead.

According to the inquisitr, the league may be considering expanding the width of the field from 160 feet to 195 feet from sideline-to-sideline. The extra 35 feet would make the width the same measurements that the Canadian Football League uses and league officials believe that it could make football a safer game.

The National Football League has made player safety one of its top priorities and the move to a safer game reportedly yielded the suggestion that the league consider changing the playing field to a CFL-style design.

According to Dan Pompei of the National Football Post, the NFLís competition committee has already discussed the matter and could do so again this year:
