Bennie Logan is all over the place on different draft sites. WalterFootball mocked him to the Seahawks in the first round. Honestly if he really is a 4.8 40 guy at 295 pounds I hope he is high on our list.

Logan to play DE and Wolfe at DT?
And Mauti to play MLB?

Harper is the converted QB from KState? The one with good hands and body control?

Pretty much what I had in mind. Right how it's hard to mock before the combine.

Harper seems like a sleeper to me. Not my first choice but with the way my mock went he was the best WR projected in that round.

28. Travis Frederick, C, Wisconsin
57. Larry Warford, G, Kentucky
88. Kiko Alonso, MLB, Oregon
119. Stepfan Taylor, RB, Stanford
154. Tyrann Mathieu, CB, LSU
216. Denard Robinson, WR/RB/??, Michigan

Elway looks to solidify the middle of the o-line (which is absolutely awful right now) in one fell swoop and then addresses the gaping holes at MLB and RB. I'm totally guessing on whether or not Mathieu and Robinson are available at those spots, but I'm a huge fan of picks with lots of question marks and huge upside in the later rounds (not really sure if Elway is though).

I really like Frederick and Warford. That's some serious nastiness to the OLine.. But.. Frederick could be had in the second, maybe third. Don't get me wrong I like his versatility to play G/C.

I don't like Alonso, but that's just my personal opinion. Who would you grab in free agency if this is your mock?

Does anyone really know what we owe the Eagles for Bunkley? On this thread I have seen #6 and #7.

According to gbnreport.com/trades it is the 6th. I use them and find the site pretty dependable.

Frederick is the best center in the draft and compares well with other Wisconsin interior linemen who have been drafted early. It might be that he falls to the 2nd round, but a lot of scouting sites I've seen think he could very well go in the late 1st. Of course this far out, before the combine, it's all very fluid. If we traded down into the 2nd and grabbed him I certainly wouldn't be upset.

As far as free agents go, it's hard to say. It really depends on how much of our roster we can hold onto. I certainly wouldn't mind signing Urlacher and/or Ed Reed to short-term deals if they can't work out deals with their respective teams. Wes Welker would be a great fit to replace Stokley if he retires or simply can't keep producing. One or two of the those three aging veterans would certainly help our team during the Manning 'win now' years. Henry Melton or Randy Starks would definitely be a nice acquisitions at DT, though they both seem kind of far-fetched to me. Otherwise they probably should just look for good value non-star guys, and focus on building through the draft.

speaking of bunkley, will we get a compensatory pick for him? I don't believe we ever replaced him...or Marcus Thomas for that matter?

Maybe, but I doubt it. Since Manning was cut, he doesn't figure into the compensatory selection formula.

Denver lost:

Bunkley (5 yr $25 million)
Royal (3 yr $13.5 million)
Fells (3 yr $5.25 million)
Quinn (1 Yr $1 million)
Haggan (1 yr $890,000)
Larsen (2 yr $1.7 million)

Did Marcus Thomas sign somewhere?

We signed:

Porter (1 Yr $4 million)
Tamme (3 yr $9 million)
Dreesen (3 yr $8.5 million)
M. Adams (2 yr $2.4 million)
Hanie (2 yr $2.5 million)
Caldwell (2 yr $1.8 million)

Lost six guys, signed six guys. Granted, we lost more valuable players than we brought in, each player signed cancels out each player lost -- IIRC. So probably nothing, unless it is a late-rounder based on Bunkley's 5 year 25 million.

So I show we lost 8 and signed 6. I'm sticking to my best-guess we will get 6th and 7th round comp picks.

I dont think it's a sign for sign, and it depends on the level free agent signed. It wouldnt surprise me if we got a late rounder for Bunkley, i wasnt suggesting a third rounder.

I didn't even think of those two. A Dawkins ceremony signing still counts?

It would be cool if we could re-coup what we lose in the Bunkley trade. Thanks for sharing that.

Seems foolish - but from what I understand, even though it was just a formality, it goes into the equation. We'll see.

Royal not doing much with the Chargers probably doesn't help, why I have us getting a 7th rounder for him and a 6th rounder for Bunkley.

If we are serious about taking interior OL early, I'd trade a pick to move up and land Jonathan Cooper. He's going to be one of the best players coming out of this draft and I wouldn't be surprised if he could move over to center and snap.

88. Alvin Bailey, OG, Arkansas, 6'5", 320

154. A.J. Klein, ILB, Iowa State, 6'1", 246

I think we can get Thomas at 88, and snag Jordan Poyer at 57.

Poyer sounds like a good player but I think his bust at a bar fight takes him off Elway's draft list.

Since this team is dang close, do we just move up and get the DT we really want?? I really think more and more since a MLB can be had further along in the draft this might be the way to go vs last years move down process

I have to redo mine, since it's obvious that Floyd is going to be out of reach.

28. Jesse Williams, DT
57. Jamar Taylor, FS/CB
88. Stepfan Taylor, RB
119. Menelik Watson, RT
154. AJ Klein, ILB
216. Earl Wolfe, SS/STs

Jesse Williams is someone that I'd like to see in round 2 or 3. I desperately hope we have a shot at better talent at 28. He just doesn't provide much of a pass rush. I would have loved Floyd myself but it really seems like he has risen. Would much rather have Short, Sylvester Williams, or a Olineman/CB/S/ILB at 28 than Jesse Williams.

Not a bad draft overall though
