Essentially this guy took the time to figure out on every drive, how much ground (as a percentage) the defense ceded. This is a nice stat, since it controls for field position.

Denver was #1, giving up only 33.71% of possible yards. Kansas City and Oakland were 23/24 and 45% of possible yards, while San Diego was 10 at 40% of possible yards.

More ammunition for my belief that Kansas City isn't nearly as good on the defensive side of the ball as their fans think they are.

2011: #12 - 40.35%
2010: #30 - 48.25%
2009: #10 - 38.78%
2008: #30 - 58.21%
2007: #25 - 44.43%
2006: #16 - 41.58%
2005: #13 - 37.82%
2004: #4 - 34.07%
2003: #4 - 34.97%
2002: #16 - 43.59%

Essentially, when the Broncos have been good (at least making the playoffs) they've almost always been sub 40%. You can see the defense just fall off the rails towards the end of the decade.
