Because Elway had no idea how to build around Tebow.. Elway had no clue what he was doing anyway... to give him such an unorthodox player is impossible for him to adapt to. He needed someone conventional at least. It was all about protecting himself.. so he threw Tebow under the bus.

I saw the same exact thing happen with Dirk Nowitzki... Avery Johnson had been made Dirk's head coach and at that time everyone said Dirk couldn't win a championship... Avery tried to force dirk to be a post player and threw him under the bus too... Avery got all the credit for the teams success Dirk got all the blame.. eventually Aveyr got fired... Dirk won a championshop,... then Avery got another job and was fired too. In both cases Elway and Avery couldn't adapt to the player who played unlike anything they were accustomed to. If you got a link, I'd love to see it. I'm not saying you are wrong, I just don't recall that at all. I do remember something about Brandon Lloyd being upset because he knew he wouldn't be getting the ball as much. The Orton numbers speak for themselves.

aaaaannnd here's the kill shot: With the Lockout, there was no way for the Broncos or Tebow to work on the offense. Remember, don't confuse Mike McCoy's return as offensive coordinator with the concept that the Broncos are running the same offense. They aren't. McCoy was running Josh McDaniels' playbook last year, and this year it's a McCoy/Panthers/Fox playbook. It's a new offense that Tebow did not have the opportunity to work on because of the work stoppage.

Orton's career isn't over....his career as a starter is. He has no one to blame but himself. It must pain you to know he'll still be on an NFL team years after Tebow is given his unconditional release.

Tebow gets blamed for Fox's offense.. he even made Peyton look terrible early on until Peyton starting running his own offense.

No, Tebow gets blamed for not being able to accurately throw a football...he has struggled to do so his entire NFL career.....which may only last a few more months.
