Posted on January 21, 2013 by Cowboy Byte
From the health care overhaul to the killing of Usama bin Laden, President Obama’s first term was marked by major changes, major accomplishments and major controversies.

Number of recess appointments: 32

Number of pardons: 22

Number of vetoes: Two

Also compared to the 171 recess appointments GWB made during his tenure,Obama is not even on pace to hit the halfway point of GWB appointments.
Gwb had 189 pardons...just saying..
Gwb visited 74 countries
Gwb 12 vetoes

Just making sure your post is put into context.

just incase you missed something GWB was in office 8 years not 4 and

frankly the congress has not passed anything of important yet because they cant get anything but pork through the senate.. no need to veto something IF they do not pass a law..

give NOBAMA time he will surpass all of GWBs marks by a wide margin..

must feel good to have uncle barack in office

So Obama is on pace to have 4 vetoes in 8 yrs, which is 8 less than gwb did in 8 yrs.
Obama is on pace for 64 recess appointments in 8 yrs which 107 less than gwb in 8 yrs.
Obama is on pace for 44 pardons in 8 yrs,145 less than gwb in 8 yrs

You can't even make legitimate point. Hilarious.

Default Medicare Paid Out $91.6 Million To Claims Made By Illegal Immigrants

Report: Medicare Paid Out $91.6 Million To Claims Made By Illegal Immigrants
Posted on January 25, 2013 by Cowboy Byte

llegal immigrants and prison inmates received more than $120 million in Medicare services from 2009-2011 despite federal law that makes them ineligible for the program, according to two new reports from the HHS inspector general.

The issue, according to the reports, is timing. When Medicare is alerted that someone is incarcerated or undocumented, its contractors help prevent payments from going out the door. But often, Medicare’s databases aren’t up to date, and improper payments go out.

And Medicare lacks the tools to get the money back.

Nearly 3,000 illegal immigrants made thousands of claims resulting in $91.6 million in services improperly covered by Medicare during the three-year period studied in the report.
a billion here a billion there pretty soon it adds up to real money..ahahahahahaha

If you ask me, there are a few guys on here that IMO don't ever engage in these political discussions and try to learn something, or heaven forbid, view things from a different perspective as the other party they tend not to identify with would see it. All they do is spam this forum with their 1 sided view. I give a whole lot more kudos to those here that go beyond party banter and doing nothing but slamming the other side. I respect lonestar as he does contribute to the football forum but it just seems to be in this forum all he does really is spam a 1 sided view. I mostly vote democrat but I have voted republican and I at least try to look at things from both sides now and then but some on here, that concept is futile. I tend to not even really read what they have to say most of the time because I already know it's a very biased view. No, that's the wrong adjective. Biased at least means you heavily favor a particular view or side. Some on here are beyond biased.

Thanks for your post.

As for spamming one sided information.

At least my posts are more than one line responses or cartoons.

I started the thread to point out DUMOCRAT ideas. Not to debate them. I would strongly suggest if you do not wish to see the ther side like you alluded to then simply do not Come to this thread.

Pretty simple. Most of what is posted in this thread is pointing to the hypocrite called liberals/ progressive.

FWIW I think without looking it up there has been one let me repeat that ONE article posted in this thread all month.

Hardly spamming.

Night night.

Awesome News: Union Membership Hits New All-Time Low, 11.3%
Posted on January 24, 2013 by Cowboy Byte

Union membership is continuing to shrink throughout the country, even as companies add jobs in one-time union strongholds such as Michigan.

Union membership fell to 11.3% of wage and salary workers last year, down from 11.8% the year before, the Bureau of Labor Statistics said today. In 1981, 20.1% of wage and salary workers were unionized.

The latest numbers, while not a surprise, are the result of both political maneuvering and corporate negotiations. Both Michigan and Indiana became right-to-work states over the last year, meaning unions cannot require members to pay dues as a condition of employment. In other states, such as Wisconsin, state governments reduced the power of public employee unions.
Once Nobamas cronies on the NLRB have their rulings reversed then the number of union thugs will shrink even farther..

Probably more shrinkage in the white house also those huevous are getting smaller by the minute..

Bill Introduced To Repeal ‘Gun-Free School Zones Act’ Because Deadly Mass Shootings Up Five-Fold Under It
Posted on January 23, 2013 by Cowboy Byte

Rep. Steve Stockman (R-TX) has introduced a bill to repeal the “Gun-Free School Zones Act” of 1990 (updated in 1995) on the grounds that mass shootings at schools have increased five-fold since its passage.

The “Safe Schools Act of 2013″ (H.R.35), co-sponsored by Rep Broun, Paul C. [GA-10] notes that the 1990 “gun-free” law has made schools unsafe because “shooters now know that they can victimize American school campuses with no fear that victims will be armed.”

Stockman’s bill notes that there have been 10 school shootings killing at least four people each in the 22 years since the “gun-free” bill passed – compared to only two in the 22 years before passage.

What’s more, “Horrific massacres on school campuses in Pearl, Mississippi, and southwestern Virginia, were averted by armed staff and students,” it says.

Given that “the ‘Gun Free School Zones Act’ has been a deadly failure,” H.R.35 says it will “restore safety to America’s schools by allowing staff, teachers, and administrators to defend the children and themselves.”
Makes loads of sense if you have a brain..

Default Perhaps this should go in political humor but it is not funny

"LOST CHURCHES OF NEW YORK AND NEW JERSEY"

When devastating hurricanes struck the East Coast, even
Houses of worship were not spared.
A local television station interviewed a woman from New
York's Harlem area and asked how the loss of churches
in the area had affected their lives.
Without hesitation, the woman replied, "I don't know 'bout
all them other people, but we haven't gone to Churches in
years. We get our chicken from Popeye's."
The look on the interviewer's face was priceless.

They live among us, AND THEY HAVE VOTED.
Now do you understand how we got our president?

Default Ben Carson Owes No Apologies

Quote:
Parker: Ben Carson Owes No Apologies
By Star Parker February 18, 2013 6:55 am

According to Cal Thomas, well-known nationally syndicated columnist, Dr. Ben Carson owes President Obama an apology.

Dr. Carson spoke this past week at the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington -- a bipartisan annual event held since 1953, attended by members of Congress and usually the president.

President and Mrs. Obama were present this year, and Thomas feels that Dr. Carson was out of line for including in his remarks areas considered public policy -- our national debt, our tax system, our publics schools, our health care.

According to Thomas: "Our politics have become so polarized and corrupted that a president of the United States cannot even attend an event devoted to drawing people closer to God and bridge partisan and cultural divides without being lectured about his policies."

Dr. Carson is an African-American physician, director of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital, who rose out of poverty in a ghetto in Detroit. He was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President George W. Bush in 2008 and is a role model for every American of every background.

I'm also proud that he serves on the national advisory board of my organization, CURE.

Although Dr. Carson did mention these various aspects of how we manage -- or mismanage -- our national affairs, he never once referred to the president or associated his comments on these issues with any political party. And to the extent to which President Obama might have taken Dr. Carson's remarks as personal criticism, it would only be in the sense of "If the shoe fits, wear it."

To the contrary, Dr. Carson began his remarks with citations from Proverbs and Chronicles, and tied the issues he spoke about to his broader theme about the moral crisis of our nation today. He talked about the moral decay of ancient Rome and how "they destroyed themselves from within."

And he then expressed optimism about Americans being able to solve our problems because "we are smart" and that "we have some of the most intellectually gifted people leading our nation."

No, if President Obama was offended by Dr. Carson's penetrating remarks, it is because the president had to be the one losing perspective of the moral tone of the event and Dr. Carson's observations.

What seems to offend Cal Thomas is that Dr. Carson has not fallen victim to the Washington disease that Thomas himself seems to have contracted as result of too many years in our nation's capital.

Dr. Carson noted the vital importance of freedom of expression in America and how "political correctness keeps people from talking about important issues while the fabric of the society is being changed." He warned that "we can't fall for this trick."

What, after all, is the point of a National Prayer Breakfast, "devoted to drawing people closer to God," if the core issue now dividing us is whether we are indeed a "nation under God" and whether this means that His Word, as revealed in Scripture, is even relevant to our national life and how we conduct our affairs?

This Word has already been banished from our public schools and increasingly from all our public spaces. Now apparently it's even off limits at the National Prayer Breakfast.

If anything, Dr. Carson was forgiving to not mention the moral disaster of abortion legal under any circumstances (supported by our president) and 55 million murdered unborn children. Nor did he mention our president's endorsement of same-sex marriage and today's collapse of the American family.

The prophet Isaiah admonished, "To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices to me? says the Lord ... even when you make many prayers I will not hear: your hands are full of blood ... cease to do evil, learn to do good."

Religious ritual devoid of content is pointless and destructive. This was Isaiah's message 2800 years ago. And this is Dr. Ben Carson's critical message for America today. Certainly nothing to apologize about.

Default “Home Inspection” As Part Of Gun Control Measure

“Home Inspection” As Part Of Gun Control Measure
Posted on February 18, 2013 by Cowboy Byte

Isn’t this why one of the reasons we had the first American Revolution?

Forget police drones flying over your house. How about police coming inside, once a year, to have a look around?

As Orwellian as that sounds, it isn’t hypothetical. The notion of police home inspections was introduced in a bill last week in Olympia.

That it’s part of one of the major gun-control efforts pains me. It seemed in recent weeks lawmakers might be headed toward some common-sense regulation of gun sales. But then last week they went too far. By mistake, they claim. But still too far.

“They always say, we’ll never go house to house to take your guns away." But then you see this, and you have to wonder.”

That’s no gun-rights absolutist talking, but Lance Palmer, a Seattle trial lawyer and self-described liberal who brought the troubling Senate Bill 5737 to my attention. It’s the long-awaited assault-weapons ban, introduced last week by three Seattle Democrats.
