Default The Milk Cliff

I guess the Republicans are also going to screw the country on milk prices.

“This is a totally antiquated law that has nothing to do with farming conditions today,” Professor Smith said. “It was put as a poison pill to get Congress to pass a farm bill by scaring lawmakers with the prospect of higher support prices for milk and other agriculture products. Letting it go into effect for even a few months would be particularly disastrous for consumers and food processors. “

Just one more example of playing partisan politics with the economy.

Also MSNBC is as bad as using fox news. When any of us put Fox News on you guys all say it should be discounted because of their bias.

Actually, it's a NY Times article. But I realize they're a little too erudite for some as well, so here's the Fox version: http://www.foxbusiness.com/governmen...ces-may-spike/

Oops. Looks like they just reprinted the same article. Whadya know?

Right but no one says why Repubs don't want to vote on the senate version. I mean cmon it cant be because repubs want milk to cost 10 bucks a gallon. Must be some other liberal BS in it they don't like. Can some one just spell out the issue and inform us? i read these articles and all it says is repubs want more reform to the farm bill? What do they want?

Oh sorry ok that last article said more. Obvious the real fight is over all the food stamps liberals threw in the farm bill. Now it makes more sense doesn't it?

The Farm Bill, included alot of stuff that I can see Conservatives balking at. The summary to the Legislative Text has sections on Conservation (think Green Energy Subsidies, Land Easements, Environment etc) and Nutrition (the FLOTUS food agenda) as possibel places of contention. I will read through th legislative text, but as with ay other Governmental Bill, will be fasciantly convoluded reading.

I also don't drink Milk, I am not a baby cow.

The big sticking point was probably the increase of food stamps and no reform of subisides for farmers.
