Golden rejects overtures from Wisconsin. Thanks for being loyal Al even though it is probably not in your best interest to stick with us.

NDSU is trailing Georgia Southern 20-16 -- with a quarter and change to go. We had them pinned at their own 5, but got a 15 yard roughing the punter -- then they drove down the field to score. Really disheartening. Triple Option gimmicks are retarded.

Toledo (9-3) plays #22 Utah State (10-2) at 4:30 PM Eastern Time in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl.
Utah State has an excellent defense and they are -10.0 favorites. I think my Rockets will hang with them. Toledo QB Terrance Owens and RB David Fluellen will be back in the lineup after they missed the last game of season with ankle injuries. |

Looks like Toledo LB Dan Molls was injured on the first play of the game.
166 tackles on the season and it's his senior season....sucks for him and the team. |

Toledo's starting QB Terrance Owens and RB David Fluellen are now out of the game, as well as LB Dan Molls, their best defensive player.
Without those 3 in the game, Toledo will get smoked by Utah State. |

It appears Wisconsin has hired (or is extremely close to hiring) Utah State's Gary Andersen to replace Bret Bielema, after Oregon State's Mike Riley and Miami's Al Golden both reportedly declined the job.
That will be a big step up for Andersen and he'll get a nice raise. But he might be walking into a difficult situation as well. The expectations in Madison will continue to be extremely high, he has an overbearing and attention whoring AD and perhaps most importantly, Wisconsin apparently doesn't pay its assistant coaches particularly well. It's apparently why some top assistants left after last season and several have left with Bielema for Arkansas as well this year. That will be an issue as Andersen tries to assemble his staff. There are also some rumors that there is some sort of brewing scandal at Wisconsin (perhaps explaining why several other coaches didnt want the gig).

The Canes land the nation's top JUCO TE, Beau Sandland, who will be enrolling early.
The two TE formation with Sandland and Clive Walford should be deadly next year. Beau's a big kid.

I think I'm rooting for Alabama....I don't know if I could stomach Notre Dame fans if they won a National Championship.
I don't know many Alabama fans around Ohio, so those ****ers can whoop it up south of the Mason-Dixon line. There are plenty of arrogant Notre Dame fans around here that will be intolerable if their Irish beat Alabama. It sucks to say it....but "Roll Tide". |

Agreed. It's definitely a Hitler vs. Stalin conundrum. I'm going to have to agree with SSJ and reluctantly root for Alabama.
(Holds nose) Roll Tide. As Mike Price once said...."its rollin!"

To no one's surprise, Butch Davis is hired at FIU. The AD there is his personal lackey, Pete Garcia and I had mentioned previously when Cristobal got fired to look for Butch to be hired.
Butch will do well there because he is in the "State of Miami" and is an excellent recruiter and talent evaluator (there's probably no better evaluator of talent than him). He's a very shady dude, but he's a master of the 4-3 Over defense. FIU will win recruiting battles for B level South Florida talent. He should consistently win 8 games there. Maybe more.
