Default PATRICK PETERSON: “I think I am the best cornerback in the league right now”

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...inst-megatron/

Although Lions-Cardinals is nowhere near the NFL’s best game on Sunday, that game will feature one of the NFL’s best individual matchups when Lions receiver Calvin Johnson is covered by Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson.

In fact, to hear Peterson tell it, the only better individual matchup in all the NFL than Peterson vs. Megatron is the one that happens in Cardinals practice, when Peterson covers teammate Larry Fitzgerald.

“I think I am the best cornerback in the league right now,” Peterson told reporters in a conference call this week. “You know, me and Calvin, we’re the same caliber players.”

But Peterson doesn’t consider Johnson the best receiver in the league right now.

“He’s second in my book behind Larry,” Peterson said.

Good to have confidence I guess... Coming off a 58-0 thumping though, whether his fault or not... Better to just keep a lid on it right now!

1) Obviously that would be the centerpiece and not straight up.

Seattle just stomped your asses 58 to zip. Wouldn't it be advisable to keep a low profile for a while?

Yeah, but you want your CB to have confidence. He's really good and all, but I think he might want to make it inner confidence for awhile after losing 58-0.

He is. Peterson's playing CB like 04 Bailey + turnovers.

Tillman was better this season, but he's fallen off.
Jennings isn't all-around enough.
Champ's not the Champ of old.

Frankly, Cromartie's (I know, wtf did that come from?) the only one that comes close to matching this year.

Yeah, big impact he's having on his team huh? 58-0?

Clearly we drafted the right guy, regardless of Peterson's running at the mouth.

They also had been one of the best D's in the league leading into it.

Miller was held statless (except for his personal foul) when the Pats hung 45 on us in the playoffs. Your ridiculous conclusions can work both ways.

Like that doesn't happen with every team. Oh those skins homers, what idiots!

Every other team's fan base and media is objective.
