The best you could do would probably be to allow the D to use a delay of game and pay the 5 yards. That's exactly what that other rule was created to prevent, however. Otherwise you're opening something up to exploitation.

If there has, it was for being a nutcase (Vince Young) or numerous people have done it for injury. In terms of just forgetting how to play, I can't think of any.

I think someone made a good point in saying he was at his best when the team was a dominant rushing team. That'll give someone hope that in the right scenario, he can be good.

The Rams always play them hard. Now that they have made the switch, they have to deal with the growing pains.

I think they should have stayed with Smith though. Growing pains can show up in any game. Colin has no playoff experience.
