Can't even begin to put how sad this is into words. Just peace and prayers for all. So sad.

Did Belcher (reserve LB) play at all last week against Broncos? I don't see his name in the stats.

Kenny McKinely took his own life during the McDaniels era. It wasn't during the season, but it was a tragic start to what would be a horrible year.

He did not start and recorded no tackles vs. Denver last week.
Terrible news. I hope their families can quickly find peace. RIP |

Can't believe some of the insensitivity not only on here but across the internet/social media.

Just said on the radio that Belcher had a gun and Pioli/Crennel were there, as well as Jamaal Charles.
Belcher never threatened any of the staff or personnel. In fact, he thanked both cops before he took his life. Unbelievable and very sad. |

The obvious difference being that Kenny Mckinley was a troubled young man and not a murderer who took the life of a mother of an infant.

There is no way any of these guys will be in any sort of condition to play/coach tomorrow.
Just no way. NFL should cancel this game. |

So sad. I mean if someone you knew blew themselves away in front of you, would you just go to work and try not to think about it tomorrow? And especially if it happened at work! They should just make this game up another time. |

Peace to the families involved. This is so horribly sad, and astonishingly has nothing to do with football, fantasy or otherwise.

I'd hold the players and coaches in high esteem if they forfeited the game to the Panthers. What's the point of playing the game anyway? It would be incredibly tough if the team was competitive and perhaps in a playoff race or something, but this kc team is in shambles anyway.

Having a clinical background......there is no way that Romeo should be on the field tomorrow. What a tragic event and this will take a very long time to overcome. Since it happened at the facility my guess is it would be hard to even go there without triggering thoughts, feelings etc. I hope the NFL looks at this sensibly. What a horrible loss for the Chiefs.....you never want to see anyone have to come to that. Unfortunately people who have lost their sense of hope see that as the only way.
My heart and prayers go out to the families of both that were lost in the tragedy and to the baby of both. |

Just can't imagine what that would be like, and hope I never will. No matter what we all think of them, it has to just be an unimaginable experience for Pioli, Charles, and Crennell. Terrible for an infant as well, gonna have to live with the fact that her dad did this to her and her mom.
Suicide is a terrible thing, but to do this, unreal. |

This is bizarre and awful. The NFL is in a horrible spot now. There are only 16 games per year. Luckily for them, this one may be easy to cancel for two reasons:
1. The game is in KC. If it were in Carolina, their fans may cause more of a fuss over a missed game. KC's fans are in a way connected to the tragedy. I remember how i felt waking up and reading about Darrent Williams on the ESPN bottom line that morning. Like a huge punch to the gut. 2. Both teams are out of playoff contention. A cancelled game would have no implication on anything important, really, outside of fantasy stats. With all the criticism that the NFL has taken lately, Goodell specifically, this is their big chance to do something that reflects well on them. It's a homerun, with no downside other than missed revenue and Charles' loss of fantasy points, which is hardly something to bend to. If they had the game, i doubt he would play anyway. There is only one reason for them not to cancel this game, and that is money. Do the right thing, Roger. |

As for the Chiefs, there is no way the league can expect them to function tomorrow. Not sure what the answer is, but forcing them to play tomorrow is a poor choice. I'm not sure Romeo or Pioli will be okay in a week let alone a day. Feel bad for the Chiefs, nobody deserves to deal with this sort of issue. |

Wow, sorta puts the whole football thing into perspective eh. Thoughts and prayers are with all involved.
And I must add that I am totally embarrassed to be a fan of the same team as some of the totally classless a holes posting on here. |
