Must-see: SN Editor-in-Chief Garry D. Howard responds to Kaepernick column criticism

San Francisco’s Colin Kaepernick is going to be a big-time NFL quarterback. That must make the guys in San Quentin happy.

Approximately 98.7 percent of the inmates at California’s state prison have tattoos. I don’t know that as fact, but I’ve watched enough “Lockup” to know it’s close to accurate.

I’m also pretty sure less than 1.3 percent of NFL quarterbacks have tattoos. There’s a reason for that.

NFL quarterback is the ultimate position of influence and responsibility. He is the CEO of a high-profile organization, and you don’t want your CEO to look like he just got paroled.

Now along comes Kaepernick. Since taking over for Alex Smith two games ago, he has convinced everybody in the Bay area that he’s the second coming of Steve Young.

too much......overdone. Nothing wrong with tats in moderation.

but its his body.......but I do not like women with a lot of tats.....couple in the right location is fine and good and same for piercing that just get in the way..............do the BB...forget the rest .

Whatever floats your boat but he will regret it later on.

Actually Tebow would love Kaepernick's tattoo's.

Almost all the tattoo's are bible verses and pictures based on the book of psalms from the bible.

Maybe I need to take an art class or a bible class but what I see on his back is a hairy mermaid with boobs slightly hanging out, a leering toad head looking up at the boobs slightly hanging out, a raw steak, an angry native american with his pecs hanging out, and a bunch of winding river thingies.

it's very much like a hidden object game, but without the list of hidden objects to look for, i'm a bit lost.

I don't understand how he can throw the football with such awful tattoos? He is going to be a terrible QB.

Honestly, I don't think it's THAT important to be able to throw a football super well anymore. The game is like 90% making the right reads, decisions, and NOT ****ing up now. With how easy it is to move the ball on offense, I'd take Manning with a limp arm over Vick with a rocket any day.
