The whole selling monkeys/Goldman Sachs joke can also work for tax cuts for the rich: ie., REAGAN vs. GWB vs. Current Era.
Even with allowing Bush era tax cuts to expire, it is still a raw deal. Pre-Reagan, then we can actually start talking about fair share. |

Ford offered more to entice the best and brightest to come build cars. It took skill and brains that Walmart doesn't take. Thats why at the time you were better off going to build cars then working in a drug store etc.
Comparing building cars to walmart is a joke. |

Icelands standard of living is now lower then before and they have trouble getting any loans. In 10 yrs there growth won't keep up with the rest of the EU.

It takes WAY more skill to stock shelves than it does to work on an assembly line, doing the same ONE task, over and over, for 8 hours. |

I was born in Michigan and lived there for over 25 years. I know exactly what goes into building cars, as about half my street growing up worked at either the Olds plant or the GM plant.
Working on an assembly line at an auto plant is one of the most brainless activities there is. You literally do one thing, all day long. You have no clue what you're talking about if you think working on an assembly line takes any brains whatsoever. A stocking job at Wal Mart at least you have to know how to count. |

I'd love to hear Houghtans liberal buddies on the board chime in on what is a tougher, harder, takes more skill to do job.....working at Walmart or working on the GM assembly line building cars.

What causes the assembly line to be efficient? Answer that and you will know what I'm talking about, because you certainly don't have a clue what you're talking about.

In politics, you HAVE to read between the lines. This was commissioned by the AFL-CIO. They have a political agenda. This poll is as useless as an NRA-commissioned poll that shows the majority don't want more gun control. I'm not surprised at the results...

Do you really believe this is the only poll that generated results like these? Bottom line: You can't produce polls of your own that show opposite results, so your only recourse is to attack the messenger. ![]() |

Even Republicans Oppose Raising The Medicare Age
By Tara Culp-Ressler on Nov 28, 2012 at 9:00 am ![]() A new ABC News/Washington Post poll reports that the majority of Americans strongly oppose raising the Medicare eligibility age in order to strike a deal to stave off the so-called “fiscal cliff,” and that opposition cuts evenly across party lines. Researchers found that 68 percent of Republicans are opposed to raising the Medicare age from 65 to 67, compared to just 30 percent of Republicans who support it. In fact, similarly strong majorities of respondents in each political group they sampled — Democrats, Republicans, Independents, and self-identifying liberals and conservatives — are opposed to the policy, regardless of their party affiliation or political leaning. Opposition grows even stronger among older Americans, peaking at 78 percent among adults between the ages of 50 and 64 years old, and also tended to be higher among Americans making less than $100,000 a year. |
