Former Mariners superstar Ichiro Suzuki has taken a big pay cut to stay in New York for another year, according to a report by Japan’s Nikkan Sports.
Ichiro has reportedly reached an agreement with the Yankees for a one-year contract with a base salary of $5 million plus incentives, Nikkan Sports reported Tuesday. That would be a big decrease from his $18 million annual contract with the Mariners, which expired after the 2012 season.
