Jim Leonard was not the problem on punt returns. Here are the facts: Shane Lechler was punting the ball very high and deep. Lechler always punts the ball high. Also the Oakland gunners did a great job of out running our outside blockers. The gunners were on top of Leonard right away. The Oakland punt team was there only redeeming value on Sunday.

Here's the deal on Leonhard returning; Fox knows he has Peyton Manning back there. They aren't going to get a lot of returns anyway playing half the games at altitude. They figure go with the safe choice will always make the right read on the punt (fair catch, no catch, etc.), always catch it and probably not get a lot of yardage and lean on your HOF QB. It would be more explosive to put a younger guy back there, sure. But he's also more likely mis-read the ball, or worse, turn it over in our own territory.

I sent in a homeade video of me returning punts in my backyard. I used VHS for added effect. Hopefully they'll respond to my application.

I guess with Leonhard getting a lot more playing time on D it makes sense to keep Holliday around and hope he can field a punt to keep Leonhard fresh. But when the game is on the line I want Leonhard fielding punts and not the Fumble bum.

this again. Just field the ball give it to manning. Makes little difference if he gets ball at the 15-20-25 he can score from anywhere. What he cant do is score when he doesn't have the ball.
