I do not know how Georgia can beat Alabama, they are just so tough and have been through this thing for years now. Should be a brutal game for the SEC title.

I live a few miles from the Michigan/Ohio border....so I'm smack dab in the middle of it all....45 minutes from Ann Arbor and 2 hours from Columbus....probably a 60/40 split of Ohio State/Michigan fans here on the Ohio side of the border.

When I was a kid, from elementary school though high school, you wore your Maize and Blue or Scarlett and Gay to school the Friday before the game.

Even at most work places, that's still par for the course....and they even told my 3 year old daughter to wear Michigan or Ohio State colors to preschool on Friday, so it sounds like they still do the same at schools.

If the smack doesn't translate to this board, I get it....but that's the way it is around here.

It would probably make more sense if I was an Ohio State fan living in Ohio, but my dad's good buddy's dad used to be a scout for Michigan and had tickets for every game and used to take me to one or two every year growing up, so I grew up a Michigan fan.

I quit looking at my phone earlier tonight as I got tired of responding to the texts of my drunk buds who are Buckeye fans.

I see the similarities as well. Great D, solid but unspectacular O, wins a lot of close games. I have a feeling no matter who they play in the NC, they will be the under dog, just like OSU was against Miami. Of course the Miami team OSU beat in 2002 was amongst the most talented college teams I've ever seen.

2002 Miami underachieved all year.....it didn't surprise me to see them struggle against OSU. No comparison to the 01 team.

I know he is only a freshman, but Johnny Manziel would get my vote for the Heisman Trophy.

3,419 yards passing with 24 TDs and 8 INTs.

1,181 yards rushing with 19 TDs.

His 4,600 combined yards is an SEC record for total yardage in a season.

Manziel had a signature win versus Alabama.

I'll be rooting for him to win it, as I think he probably deserves it....be interesting to see if the voters will break tradition and award it to him as a freshman.

AUBURN, Ala. -- Auburn has fired coach Gene Chizik.

Auburn announced Sunday that Chizik was dismissed two years after leading the Tigers to their first national title since 1957. The Tigers closed with a 49-0 loss to No. 2 Alabama that was the second-most lopsided Iron Bowl game ever and worst since 1948.

The move came after a 3-9 season without any Southeastern Conference wins. It was the most losses by an Auburn team since an 0-10 season in 1950.

They were very talented. Not as talented as the 2001 championship team (Reed, McKinnie, Gonzalez were big losses, esp the latter two as the 02 OL was significantly worse than the 01 OL at offensive tackle...01 OL was the best pass blocking OL I have seen in college ball). The 2001 title team was the most talented team in CFB history, IMO. I'm not saying they are the best team in CFB history, I would give 95 Nebraska that honor, but 01 Miami would be in the Top 3 all time and the most talented all time.

The 02 team frustrated me all year. They had like 5 first rounders in the front seven and yet they ranked somewhere in the 60s nationally vs. the run (ironically, they actually played well vs. the run against OSU). They had to mount a furious comeback at home against a mediocre FSU team. Rutgers (not hte current Rutgers, the awful Rutgers) played them to a dead heat through 3 quarters until they finally broke it open in the 4th. They gave up 45 points to VT.
