What's funny is that these righties will go right back to the comfort of "their media" which was so obviously wrong and out of touch. And they'll continue to bash the terrible "MSM" which, led by Nate Silver, was so right.

Oh geez, people, if we start bumping up every incorrect prediction anyone's ever made around here, this will soon be known as the Bob's Your Information Minister Website.

Yes, but the difference here is that predictions about Obama winning were based on facts and research, whereas "bipartisan" polls like those from the Weekly Standard and predictions like those from Karl Rove and Dick Morris are not.

At this point nothing would surprise me -- least of all an assassination attempt by white supremacists.

Just like you can count on the GOP Congress to continue its obstructionist, "party before country" ways. Conservatives, by definition, are people who resist change, and "the times they are a changing" - in a big way. ![]() |

When I popped into this thread, the banner ad at the top said "Should Obama be Impeached? Click here." The crazy abides!

I miss real conservatives. I think even Bob Hope would be offended by this crap.

^ Yes you did. But you haven't been around to hear all the wingers spinning ridic factoids that suggest he barely won. Oh noes, he got less votes than in 2008! He only won because of the dark skinned peoples!

I think the article I posted by William Bennett perfectly catches the denial of the Right. The Right Wing info-bubble was smashed in this election. They are rebuilding it as fast as they can.

It was actually quite nice to be away from the boards that long. Unfortunately, I buried my grandfather on Saturday, so it is nice to get back into the mix here and talk politics. He's the guy I learned the ropes from. He held public office in SD for about 12 years. He voted absentee so his vote for Barack still counted even though he was dead on election day. He would die that day though. Funny how it works. My last phone call with him was about the Broncos and a reminder to vote! Now he gets to hang out with FDR and Truman. ![]() |

I'm sorry to hear about your grandfather. I know what you mean about learning politics from your grand dad. One of my grand dads was Chief Council to the United States Senate for years and was even considered to the Supreme court but turned it down for a long deserved retirement. He spent his entire career (making it to 100) deep inside the Washington machine. A Republican who championed civil rights. He'd be ashamed of his party if he were alive today. Boy the stories he told. I still can't fathom what he saw and was a part of spending most of the 20th century doing what he did. That generation made America great. I truly believe that.

I drop in and out of this place. I find it's healthier to keep perspective. I don't want to get -SLAP- happy. Anybody ever miss me all they have to do is PM me and I'll reply right back. I loved the way Colorado handled absentee voting this year. I swear this is the first year my vote ever counted. |

It's like a conservative zombie apocalypse where you are stuck reading the same message over and over. It's like reasoning with the religious dead, the unholy stupid, or being trapped in a black and white television somewhere in a place where Rod Serling would **** himself. http://www.pbs.org/wnet/americanmast...d-serling/702/ Fed up with the difficulties of writing about serious issues on the conservative networks, Serling turned to science fiction and fantasy. Through an ingenious mixture of morality fable and fantasy writing, he was able to circumvent the timidity and conservatism of the television networks and sponsors. Self-producing a series of vignettes that placed average people in extraordinary situations, Serling could investigate the moral and political questions of his time. He found that he could address controversial subjects if they were cloaked in a veil of fantasy, saying “I found that it was all right to have Martians saying things Democrats and Republicans could never say.” |
