It was the heart rate monitor that really had me mesmerized.

I was 6 1/2 that July and actually do have vague memories of the televised broadcast. I had outgrown my Major Matt Mason, but had the astronaut suit for my GI Joe.

Nothing will recapture those days. Thanks for this, Steven. Incredible.

Wow, this brings back some GREAT memories - 10 years old and parked in front of my Dad's B&W TV watching history unfold. This is teamwork at it's VERY best...

Think I mentioned in another thread that my wife and I had the pleasure of meeting Kranz and Apollo 13 commander Jim Lovell back in 2001. It was a very special moment for us as I was always a space geek, and her Father worked for NASA.

Glad this hung around this long - it would have been a shame to miss this, and now I have it bookmarked. Ill be watching more than once...

I am in awe of what it took to pull off the moon missions.

I respect the astronauts a lot for putting their lives on the line but this site just shows a glimpse of all the people involved at Houston and across the country who got them there safely and returned them back to Earth.

I would love to see an Apollo 13 version of this also.
