You can decriminalize it though. It will be against the law but the fine will be like $35 or something.

This is ridiculous. Colorado doesn't even have a strong gang presence.

yep. Arizona, just enforcing the laws b/c feds are too lame to enforce their federal laws, yet CO flat out breaking the law.

Also, what does this say about state rights overall? Montana just got screwed by the feds when they tried to go against the feds in the manufacturing of guns. Feds stepped in and said "no" you can't regulate in-state gun manufacturing because of the possibility of those guns leaving the state. I foresee the same damn argument for marijuana.

the feds pretty much suck. BO included.

13ers in Colorado Springs might disagree too. Wasn't there some rule kids in schools couldn't wear the number 18?

Gangs are everywhere. I'm assuming in southern Colorado they aren't as violent as out here. Mostly gang on gang crime(selling weed in other territories will get you killed). they get their money from selling narcotics in their territory. Now if some college stoner comes walking through with his own bag of weed? He's gonna get clipped. The biggest advocates out here that wanted medical marijuana outlawed were the gangs. They'll see their product lose its value. Which will end up in more crime.

Oh really? Show me that part of the law? Try staying with facts. Arizona wanted to enforce current federal law. I will wait for that link.

Really? Why?

I ask because I have never heard one legitimate reason why cannabis should be illegal.

No! A state law can never, and will never trump a federal law. They can't win in the Supreme Court unless you could prove they have no right to regulate drugs.

If I was at a game and someone started to smoke pot and I got high I would sue the hell out of who sold me the ticket. It is called a contact high. there are people that get deathly ill allergic to that **** ! lawsuits are on their way in Colorado and Washington big time !

The pot will never see the light of day or public. if it does there will be lawsuits... good luck keeping your jobs drug heads

Really Crime is one of the biggest reasons I am for this. Weed is capital to gangs that enables them to provide an image / style. If that goes away they are less attractive to new recruits and diminish not strengthen.

Also the USA is party to a lot of drug trafficking agreements and treaties. Lawmakers in Colombia have muttered we only want to make weed legal because that is what is tough for us to enforce. They see obviously coco being there problem because it grows there.

If a country like Columbia said fine drug war over, and that in turn led to cocaine really dropping in price etc etc, flooding our markets, would you all be ok with that. Remember marijuana is scheduled as a narcotic along with other drugs. We may not be able to legally just remove it and leave the rest in place.

Just some thoughts i have on the issue from a bigger perspective.

Then also the law in colo says you can grow 6 plants, cant have more then an ounce at a time. But you can get way more then an ounce from 6 plants? Are they saying you cant take all of that to a buddies house and trim it? Seems to be like enforcement still will be needed. I thought one reason was to make it cheaper and have police not involved? Whats next random inspections of your grow room to make sure you only have 6 plants? How much trouble would you get into for 30 plants? etc etc.

To me the proposition vauge, how colo will regulate illegal under federal law. IMO the feds will squash it. Eventually though this type of vote could lead to a push at the federal level. IMO this has to be a decision we make as a country because our borders arent gaurded. What happens when colo becomes a mecca for growing a lot more then 6 plants? maybe because they don't enforce? Then that weed hits the highway to more conservative states? There you have more enforcement issues, and the issue of whether its fair for one state to let weed go into another one.

IMO lots of unanswered issues.
