Default What does your ballot look like?

Here's mine....3 weeks out.

PRESIDENT AND VICE PRESIDENT
Slight lean towards Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan (R) but still largely undecided. This is the only part of my ballot which is not locked down. There are still three choices (Romney, Obama or No Vote). No vote could easily end up being my choice. Basically, I like Romney-Ryan on spending (especially increasing SS eligibility age and turning Medicare into premium support as well as block granting more programs to States) and I like Obama on taxes (eliminate Bush tax cuts for over 250k). I wish one candidate would fully endorse Bowles-Simpson on the tax side.

** Revised on 10/16/12 with final decision: WRITE-IN for Jon Huntsman Jr. (R)

US SENATOR
Dianne Feinstein (D)- A little too liberal on domestic issues, but pretty strong on national security affairs. I don't care for Boxer at all, but Feinstein is halfway decent.

US REPRESENTATIVE
Jack Orswell (R) -Not happy with the redistricting that basically ended David Dreier's career. He was a very effective representative for our area and was very powerful in Congress. Judy Chu is now the incumbent representative. I'd much prefer Dreier. Since he isn't on the ballot, I'll go with the next best alternative.

STATE MEASURES (I'll spare you each one, just the big ticket items here in CA)

Prop 30-YES. Temporary Tax on 250k and over and increase in sales tax by a quarter cent to fund schools/public safety. This is Gov. Brown's big initiative. We need that extra 6b in revenue and there have already been very devastating cuts the last few years. It's not an unreasonable tax increase and it doesnt affect most of the public in a difficult way.

Prop 32-NO. Prohibitions on unions and corporations from payroll deducted funds going for political purposes.

Prop 34-YES. Replacement of death penalty with life imprisonment. Small savings in state budget.

Prop 37- YES. Labeling of genetically engineered food.

Prop 38- NO. Increase in taxes on earnings for 12 years for K-12 schools. I'm ok with moderate tax increases, but this is a little much. We already got 6b from Prop 30, I think thats enough. This is another 10b in revenues and its more aggressive and for much longer a period. That's a little much.

Prop 39- NO. Multistate businesses to pay income taxes based on percentage of sales in CA. We're losign alot of business in the state, some to NV in particular for tax treatment issues. Willing to accept some tax increases, but we also must make an effort to make the business climate better as well.

What does yours look like and what are the key propositions in your state?

For me, there are several factors but my biggest issue is with church and state. If Romney is president, abortion will be illegal and that's based on religious belief, which I think should have no roll in politics. That is why I mainly vote democratic, not because the odds are stacked against the poor, although they need a voice and more often they don't get one because money from the rich ensures they often don't have one. But mainly because Republicans bring in religion way too much. And the fact that before they are even president, they are swearing a pledge to somebody just so they can be nominated for that party. That sounds like their party is being held hostage.

But I respect everybody's vote and how they see things. But I just want to comment on another thread, in which we have a mane follower on here who has been on medical leave from work due to surgeries and there are some mane members (Meck and bpc) who have said some horrible things to him without even knowing all the circumstances of his situation. In my opinion, that's no longer respecting a different opinion. There's no place for that here at the mane, and it disgusts me.

Just got my wife's ballot today. I hate it when there is only one option available.

If you live in the 11th judicial district, don't vote for Thom LeDoux for District Attorney. When he was a prosecuter he prosecuted me for that incident I had in '07, real real real worthless piece of ****. Just based on that, the guy never made me sweat. When he cross examined me I made him look like a horse's ass. My lawyer, who was pretty damn cheap as is, ran circles around this clown. The jury spent literally 2 minutes deliberating before acquitting me. The guy is just incompetent and I recommend writing someone else in. Sucks that there isn't another option. That would have been an opportunity where I would have voted for a Democrat for the first time ever.

Other than that, yes on Amendment S, yes on Amendment 64, no on Amendment 65. Need to look at these judges before making a decision.

How did you vote for prop 36?

BTW, I liked Huntsman too but he was way too soft in the debates.

Speaking of slimy mofos, Prop 37 was going to pass until the big food Corporations saw what was going on and poured in 50 million dollars to shoot this prop down. Prop 37 had 67 percent support prior to that.

Corporations behind the ‘Vote No’ ad campaign

Pooling their resources and launching a simultaneous media blitz to change the minds of California voters, industry corporations raised and spent at least $45 million for the ‘Vote No’ campaign. That compares to just $8 million raised by an assortment of consumer advocacy groups in support of the initiative.

Here is a list of the multi-national corporations behind the $45-$48 million ad campaign and the amount each contributed (from BeforeItsNews.com):

MONSANTO COMPANY - $8,112,069

E.I. DUPONT DE NEMOURS & CO. - $5,400,000

PEPSICO, INC. - $2,145,400

GROCERY MANUFACTURERS ASSOCIATION - $2,002,000

BASF PLANT SCIENCE - $2,000,000

BAYER CROPSCIENCE - $2,000,000

DOW AGROSCIENCES LLC - $2,000,000

SYNGENTA CORPORATION - $2,000,000

KRAFT FOODS GLOBAL, INC. - $1,950,500

NESTLE USA, INC. - $1,461,600

COCA-COLA NORTH AMERICA - $1,455,500

GENERAL MILLS, INC. - $1,230,300

CONAGRA FOODS - $1,176,700

KELLOGG COMPANY - $790,700

SMITHFIELD FOODS, INC. - $683,900

DEL MONTE FOODS COMPANY - $674,100

CAMPBELL SOUP COMPANY - $598,000
What a ****ing shame.
