Republicans need to adjust their strategy in building their base.
Romney got the majority of votes for whites, seniors, males and lost the election.

that's what I'm thinking too. I love the electoral college, it's here for a reason and both conservatives and liberals should recognize this.

He campaigned on pulling out of Iraq then was in discussions to extend our presence there. I have no reason to doubt that he'll maintain the current schedule but hoping he'll go out of his way to speed it up is a pipe dream.

The candidate promising the most handouts will win every election from here on out. THAT is what you'll have to focus on. It's not about the party base at all. The R party as a whole might be obsolete at this point.

The fact that Garry Johnson siphoned off 20k votes makes me mad. Third party candidates just give elections to the person least in line with their view. See: Nader in 2000. Anyway, congrats to Obama and to you Democrats. I hope you guys make things better. The country really needs the help. You have an impressive ground game and it's clearly powerful. We'll need to answer again. Hopefully 2014 is like 2010 and we can get the Senate back. See you in two years!
Reporting from NY - people are honking and whistling on my street.

Anyways, I hope you take solace knowing that this election has advanced Mormonism's public image, regardless of the result.

Personally I also look forward to the Republican party doing some soul searching, returning from the far right to the right like they were in the 80s (they're going to have to if they want the latino vote).

I can't wait to one day feel like I've got two good choices, not a bad choice and a less bad one.

Are they really trying to say Hurricane Sandy was part of the reason Romney lost? That's weak.

Meh, Romney was about as middle of the road Republican as you will find. So much so that maybe, just maybe, the "masses" don't see enough difference between him and BO to make a change?

You had to see it would have an impact when Christie was praising Obama the week before the election. They said Obama is currently polling higher than he was at any point since the first debate. The hurricane had an impact, no doubt.

The fact that the Republicans nominated a terrible candidate... that might've had a larger impact, though.

Maybe the Romney family should have purchased more voting machines in Ohio?

No, Carl Rove said it's too early to call Ohio. Fox called it for Obama before any other network and are sticking to it.

I am thrilled with this. Billy Graham finally began instructing pastors and removed from his site things that said LDS members are a cult. I am grateful for that for sure.
