Default Romney would increase the Pentagon budget

Romney wants to increase military spending --

The Pentagon budget is already more than a $ trillion a year. Are we safer? No.

In fact, US military spending is at historically obscene levels. As that radical lefty Ike pointed out, our out-of-control military industrial complex is stealing from the mouths of unborn babies.

Unfortunately, Obama might also do the same.

Military spending is not a substitute for a vacuum of leadership -- which is our real problem.

The number one job of the federal govt is to maintain a national defense strong enough to withstand an attack from the whole world if need be. I know the liberals would rather have them saving the spotted tree frog, handing out welfare checks, food stamps, and destorying private enterprise but i digress.

Oh brother. That won't happen, and even if it did, we wouldn't stand a chance.

What a ridiculous comment.

Seems like someone needs to read Article 1 Section 8...

Let's take a look at the enumerated powers of Congress, in order, once again...

1 - Collect taxes
2 - Borrow money
3 - Regulate commerce
4 - Establish naturalization and bankruptcy laws
5 - Coin money
6 - Provide punishment for counterfeiting currency
7 - Establish Post Offices and transportation routes necessary for postal delivery
8 - Establish copyright laws (to promote the progress of science... where are the constitutional conservatives on this one?)
9 - Establish a court system under the rule of the Supreme Court
10 - Define and punish piracy and violation of international law
11 - Declare war
12 - Raise and support armies
13 - Provide and maintain a Navy
14 - Establish laws to be followed by the military
15 - Provide a discipline by which to train state militias
16 - Exercise legislation over the District of Columbia
17 - Make other laws deemed necessary and proper

Raising and supporting a military fell to items 12 and 13 on a list of 17. Methinks the framers of the Constitution didn't just forget until they were halfway done, and then go, "OMG TOTALLY 4GOT THE ARMY WTF Z"

The power of Congress has diminished -- as the power of the executive branch has grown.

But the steadily growing power of the financial elite has eclipsed both. Today the federal government is but an extension of the federal reserve.

Congress is an afterthought.

Those who control the creation of money have the nation by the throat.
