Just looking through the '08 Lions schedule, realizing that, aside from a few games, they were pretty competitive most weeks. A lot of tough breaks, really.

What I'm asking is this: does 1 or win2 necessarily remove you from the worst team ever conversation? Point margins so far are -16, -18, +3, -17, -3, -28, -10, -25 (at the moment).

at this point Barkley is basically Quinn coming out of ND.
really hyped up, hasn't had that signature stand out franchise QB future season.
even in your weaker drafts there has been one guy who had it in most cases.

Barkley is definitely the top QB in the draft this season.
but is he a guy you can build your franchise around and excel.
right now he seems more solid QB who can help your team win than franchise QB who can help your team win a championship.

Something could be said for point differential over the length of a season I suppose. One fluke win shouldn't necessarily disqualify a team from the "competition".

That is almost 2:1!

I don't think so. When people ask who is the worst team in NFL history, the first thing that comes to people's minds will be "the only team in NFL history that has gone 0-16".

Last year's Rams were outscored 407 to 193, and the 2010 Panthers were outscored 408 to 196. So really there's nothing historic about that. Seems to be pretty standard for true bottom feeders.

Those of us who know football will remember the team that turned it over multiple times a game, missed FG's, gave up 2:1 point differentials, could not even get a lead in regulation, and we will know which team was the most futile.
