If this is true I can see Mcgahee going in full-on beast mode to fight for carries. He will run the ball like a man possessed.
But, that's still not worth the pricetag. If the Broncos have the money it would be better spent at other positions, IMO. |

ugh. Hillman was not good on Sunday. Shedding tackles and making guys miss = good. Not taking a hand off and running thru tractor trailer size holes. |

Well... the TD part is nice. It's his age and contract I am worried about. If we are going to a RB his age, why not go for the sledge hammer in Jackson? Cheaper option and just what we need. The dude could punish and wear down a def in a jeeby. We already have our speed back and a mix of both in Willis. Jackson would be god send in a no huddle offense with Manning.

Fox and Mccoy coached Dwill when he was one of the best in the league. Im sure that has something to do with this. My only concern would be bringing him into a complex offense with all the checks Peyton does and expecting him to pick it up in a few days. Besides that, as long as were not giving up starters or 2's and 3's - why not. But, I would do a 3 this year and a 4 next and throw in Knowshon. |

He also had several nice runs on Sunday where he made folks miss. The longest four yard run of the year came that way. He had a really nice 6 yarder early in the game where he sidestepped someone and got right up the middle. He was much better than you want to give him credit for. |

If true this is a stupid trade on our part
His contract is horrible and he is does not have much in the tank If we traded anything more than a 4th for the guy I will be dissapoint And Schefter was making it sound like it would take at least a 2nd for him hope it isnt true |

Williams has a crap load of wear on his tires. He also has never played an entire season going back to his junior year in high school. The contract seems bloated to me too. That said, in this style of offense where he splits with Willis, Hillman and sometimes Ball, I think he would be worth it were his contract not so bloated. I would consider it if the compensation was good. Otherwise I would pass. I don't know who the de facto GM is over there right now, but they are probably not looking to do too much until the new GM is officially installed unless it's a killer deal. I wouldn't deal with a team in that situation. |

2012: $5.25 million (but only a 2.6 mil hit this year), 2013: $4.75 million, 2014: $5.75 million, 2015: $6.75 million, 2016: Free Agent
Relatively small cap hit this year and less than $5 mil next year. That's nothing for a starting quality, and potentially upper echelon, running back nowadays. And that's before any potential restructuring, which isn't out of the question. Worst case scenario, we dump him before the 2014 season when all of the bonuses have been paid and the cap hit isn't so bad. It really doesn't look like the albatross it's made out to be. It's far less than we've wasted on guys like Ty Warren that never even saw the field. And more or less the same as guys like Joe Mays who lost their spot on the field. |

Check out some of the guys we're still paying... Dawkins, Goodman, Warren.. that's 16m right there. And they could probably get Doom to restructure. http://www.altiusdirectory.com/Sport...-salaries.html |

Maybe I should watch again, but I remember him hitting the ground every time a finger touched him. I think he's a good 3rd option right now. Not a 2nd. Not yet. The talent is there, but he looks like an undersized Tatum Bell to me at this point. |

I'm on board. Deangelo has been nothing short of a model citizen and teammate. I listen to the local talk radio here in Charlotte, and have never heard anything bad said about the guy. He is a regular at the local MMA fights I like to go to, and he is constantly taking pictures with fans...never seen him turn down a "Hey Deangelo - can I get a picture?"
On the field, he has been very comfortable sharing the spotlight with Stewart/Cam. Would definitely be comfortable in a shared role w/ McGahee. Has better hands than Willis, IMO. Seven career fumbles in seven years....compare to McGahees 26 career fumbles in 9 years. We all know Fox loves him some running game. Frankly, we aren't so hot in that area right now. 4.0 YPC, below NFL average. One would think that Manning under center should keep the safety out of the box, and Manning should be able to check out of runs when the situation is wrong. Although, oddly, the only seasons a Peyton Manning team has had >4.0 YPC was 2006, 2004, and 1999-2001. I would welcome DeAngelo to Denver in a heart-beat; I was really hoping they would sign him last year before he re-upped w/ Carolina. I can see the front office moving him as a way to draw a separation from the Hurney era, but I wonder who has that kind of authority? |

I could name 25 backs I'd rather have over Williams; arguably he's the 3rd best RB on his roster and would be the 2nd best on ours. Sorry guys this dude has always been overhyped similar to Shonn Greene.

Found these two articles interesting..
DWills cap hit http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...liams-cap-hit/ And what we have this season? We're going to have 30m to spend this offseason. No? http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...nflpa-version/ |

The information your getting from that link is wayyy old. Try spotrac.com. The Broncos are not paying BDawk $9M (off the books), and are not paying Warren $5.25M (more like $2.5 cap hit). Right now, they are sitting at $113M, including $5M in dead money. Dumervil's contract goes down a little next year, but we have MASSIVE amounts of free agents to resign, including Clady, Koppen, Tony Carter, Porter, Stokley, maybe Brooking, etc. All those guys, plus draft picks...plus we need to sign good DT in Free Agency, and possibly an MLB too. In short, if you think the Broncos are "wayyy" under the cap next year, you're dead wrong. |

I have concerns with this, but none that include mileage on the tires. The guy has about 300 carries total the past 2 1/2 years, and just over 1,000 for his career of 7 years, so he has probably less wear than McGahee had when we signed him.
My concern is getting him halfway through a season, and learning a new offense if they plan on him being a contributor. RB is supposedly the easiest to pickup in an offense, but there still has to be some concern. Plus, do we really need another 30 year old RB on the roster next year? I guess if it's win now mode it's worth it, and hopefully groom Hillman to be a major contributor down the road. |

Read that and first thought it said DeAngelo Hall.
I'm on board with this if the light rail in fact comes through on this one. |

2. 3rd best on their roster? insanity 3. overhyped? The guy had a single season with over 1600 yds and 20 TDs. Shonne Greene is 3 and a half years into his career and still doesn't have that many TDs total. |

Unfortunately I have to agree with this. I was "encouraged" by what I saw from Hillman, but not terribly "impressed". He has good speed and made a few good runs on plays where nobody touched him until he got to the second level, but I don't see a guy you could give more than 10-12 touches a game. Not big enough, and not physical enough.
