Per Sources: Jesus makes his return tomorrow. My guy knows a guy that says its a done deal. He's just working on the details.

He's made smart decisions that have worked out. He may not be spending or not as aggressive as Shanahan was, but he's playing it smart, and bringing in the right people for the right price/years, and building through the draft.

Well, Denver draft Ozweiler instead of a player that would help right now and I have been banging the drum since training camp Denver needs to bring in another RB to help McGahee and keep him fresh for the playoff run. Maybe Hillman can do this but If I was Elway seeing how good this team is now I would seriously think about adding that RB because Denver is very close to being the best team in the conferance.

I trust in elway, if he wants Williams, do it. I like the part about non garunteed salary if he bombs. whatever we need to do to get to the superbowl

Do you even know that he splits carries? I highly suggest you go look at the game logs of the top RBs in the league last year, at first glance, it won't look like much. You're whole theory about YPC not meaning anything is ignorant. yes, maybe in a game you can break off a huge run and get a boost... But to average 5.4 ypc over 155 carries, is impressive under any circumstances. |

As for salary cap consequences, the unamortized portion of a traded player's contract will be charged to the team's cap the following season. For example, were the Panthers' DeAngelo Williams traded before Thursday afternoon, the remaining unamortized portion of his $16 million signing bonus -- $9.6 million -- would be charged against the Panthers' already-bloated 2013 cap. In other words, the Williams contract, with $21 million guaranteed, would be the gift that keeps on giving.

also guys winter is about to hit...we will need to rely on our running game alot more and i expect there to be more injuries during cold weather games....this really wouldnt hurt to have options especially as hard as mcgahee runs im sure hes gonna get banged up eventually.

It does nothing for them they have to many Rbs as it is and more is contract is about the same money as dwills is, they are cap heavy and will have to shed loads of it in the offseason.

I just heard the Broncos offered Manning to the Giants straight up for little brother Eli, and the Giants said "Done! Only just throw in Von Miller to be fair!"

Not sure this makes much sense, especially since Hillman looked good Sunday. The only thing I can figure is that they don't trust Hillman enough in pass blocking yet and would prefer a veteran as the #2 guy for now. Also, McGahee wore down some at the end of last season and is having continued fumbling issues, so perhaps that's a factor as well. We've got plenty of cap space and Carolina would have to eat the guaranteed portion of his deal, so I don't think that's prohibitive. If it's for a 5th or 6th rounder, I'd have no issue with it. Fox and Elway did attempt to sign him prior to 2011, so you never know. I doubt it happens, though.

Williams has been splitting duties so his mileage is low for a 29 year old
and he can add that instant quick strike ability. Hillman is still learning the position. DWill is still elusive. Watch some of his runs this year Love it if it happens |

Williams is toast. He has not been the same RB the last two years. If you want a sledge hammer type back, grab Jackson.

...." earlier in the week at least one playoff-contending team has contacted the team about trading for Williams before Thursday’s 4 p.m. deadline, and a source also said one team has contacted the Panthers inquiring about veteran wide receiver Steve Smith." It is a 'playoff contending team' per this source and another team has inquired about steve smith...lemme guess...the patriots? Last edited by Vegas_Bronco; 11-01-2012 at 06:27 AM.. |

It really wouldnt be a bad deal (assuming we dont give up a lot) for three reasons:
1. He could take some of the load off McGahee 2. He is added insurance should McGahee or Hillman get hurt 3. We will need another back if Manning were to get hurt since we would likely run the ball a lot more in that scenario I would be for it if we gave up Moreno plus a 5th or something. |

I like how poster are saying Hillman looked good last game, against the worst defense in the league, so we're okay at RB....
The fact that we're looking at this means that we're going to contend this year for the SB. Carolina paid him $21 million already, that contract isn't so bad without the bonus. Anything 4th & lower would be a steal. |

I don't see the problem with kicking the tires here. When's the last time we had a guy on our team (not playing QB) who proved he can get 20 TDs in a season?
