That team's D is a joke and Brady is holding the offense together with spit and baling wire. They will crumble in the playoffs. |

if the Broncos make this trade, what does it say about Hillman? We know Moreno is finished, that no suprise. But the Broncos just drafted Hillman so...?

This makes very little sense given the price tag and the fact that we already have two backs performing well and the allegedly new back is not exactly young.

Considering the first rushing option is Cam. And the second rushing option is Cam in Carolina...not surprised Williams' numbers are down. Stewart's numbers are not great either. 61 carries, 210 yards, 2 tds for williams. 52 carries, 184 yards, 0 tds for Stewart. 51 varries, 310 yards, 3 tds for Newton. But a 29 year old back making $5 mil a year to be a backup to a 31 year old back...I'd prefer to stick with Hillman. ![]() |

Why am I joking? I just told you what he was salary impact was this year. He is splitting carries between 2 other backs and Cam Newton and none of them are having very good years over there.

There are several potential obstacles. First off, Carolina fired general manager Marty Hurney last week. The Panthers are using a committee approach, with Hurney’s former staff members working with coach Ron Rivera on personnel matters. Owner Jerry Richardson also could become involved if a decision has to be made on what to do with Williams.
More importantly, there would be big salary-cap implications for any team that trades for Williams. He would cost a new team $2.6 million in cap space the rest of this season and has $18 million remaining on a contract that runs for three more seasons. http://espn.go.com/blog/nfcsouth/pos...he-trade-block Not sure he is worth the above, just a thought. |

Wouldnt you prefer to develop Hillman and increase his touches as McGahee winds down then trade for a ridiculously expensive option and have to repeat the process in 2014? If the goal is to develop a lightning and thunder backfield...why not go after Hillis after this season at a more reasonable price then sending needed picks to Carolina for a guy with an 8.7 million dollar cap hit? ![]() |

I think its safe to say though this trade or not, Hillman will be getting the ball about 10 times a game from now on unless he makes a huge mistake. He glides along faster then anything we have had at RB recently. |

I don't believe Elway would make such a trade. This guy is 29, and has a big contract. If it was Jonathan Stweart then I'm all for it.

He has lost a step, certainly not as explosive as before, but IMO he's one of the top backs in the league in getting every yard that's there (which works great for our offense). He has top notch vision that's for sure.

actually deangelos contract isnt guaranteed for anything after this year...so if he wanted to stick around he would have to restructure...i say its a good deal for a 1yr deal as long as we have the cap space...who knows thats gonna happen to our RBs...all i know is if mcgahee goes down hillman is wayyyyyyyy too small to take on the load and slowshon wont break and tackles or hold onto the ball so why not try to make this move?
