Hate to say it, but KCStud is right. People in KC don't eat at KFC, unless they're stupid. For that matter, people shouldn't eat at KFC anywhere unless they're stupid.

There are quite a few BBQ joints that make a mean roasted chicken in KC tho.

Johnny's is one place that has good roasted chicken, but it's not the best. Carolina has amazing pulled pork. It's really close with Oklahoma Joe's. Carolina might have an edge there.
The best ribs I've ever eaten were at Arthur Bryants. They do it right too (if you go to the original one). They make their meat in a setup that's been used for like 50 years, so the flavor is there.

There was a KFC about 2 miles from Oklahoma Joe's a few years ago, and it shut down. Oklahoma Joe's is that good. It could be -15 degrees outside with a snowstorm and that place would still have people lined up out the door.
