Heyneck A win for the giants tonight greatly improves the chances of winning it all quick. Vogels and Cain are great chances for 2 wins. And our road play is spectacular. I just hope Bumgards isn't too gassed.
My gf has season tickets in her family and prying just one ticket off them is torture. It's fun as hell watching it from the knothole though! |

I've always rooted for the NL team when the Dodgers don't make the World Series. But the Giants? I wouldn't root for the Giants if you stuck forks in my eyeballs.

Miggy popped out with the bases loaded and 2 outs to end the 5th inning with the Tigers down 2-0.

Yes it is. San Francisco's pitching has absolutely bedeviled Detroit this whole series and now its basically an insurmountable 3-0 lead. This reminds me of the White Sox pitching staff in the 2005 postseason....just lights out.

Tigers lose 2-0 to the Giants.
Giants take a 3-0 lead in the series. I had a chance to go to the game, but had some other things going on and didn't want to spend the money, as the ticket would have been pricey. Now I'm glad I don't have to hop in my 4Runner and sit in traffic and then drive an hour home with my wallet $300 lighter. ****ty night of sports....Tigers lose in the World Series, and Michigan takes a steamy dump in Lincoln tonight. What's next....some dude kicking down my door looking to steal my dog and fist me? Denver better win tomorrow to salvage my sports weekend. |

![]() You're a good dude, SSJ. I think Denver will win tomorrow so that is a positive and even though the Series went poorly for Detroit, you have to be happy that they dug deep and got into the post-season and then whipped up on some pretty good clubs to win the AL and get this far. Impressive achievement considering where they were after that make-up game in Chicago.

At least my Toledo Rockets won today and are now 8-1. I'd love to see the Tigers win the World Series, but if they lose, they had an exciting run at the end of the year and then won two series in the playoffs, that included sweeping the Yankees. The Tiger bats have gone limper than Mark Mangino's penis in this series. |

Yup, the Yanks hitting was inexplicable but I would give the Tigers more than a decent shot to win that series even if the Yanks were hitting well. Although I do keep thinking back to that bad call in game 1, when Cano was clearly safe at first and the Yanks' would've drawn first blood and possibly won game 1. But that water is way under the bridge...

I hate this matchup. Saints are heating up, we struggle against elite passers like Brees, no Porter, etc. Offense will need to do some consistent scoring and we'll need to get some breaks in the turnover department. But I digress since this is a baseball thread...

The Giants sweep the Tigers with a 4-3 win in Game 4.
Props to the Giants....they deserved to win the World Series. Last edited by SouthStndJunkie; 10-28-2012 at 08:56 PM.. |

It doesn't really take away from what the Giants did but, once again, a team with a layoff leading up to the WS falls flat in the WS.
