I am in utter shock. i was really bored and cranky because of a caffiene binge at work... i was working off 3 hours of sleep... and i kept. on. reading. about lisfranc injuries. it was pissing me off, because you rarely heard about lisfranc injuries 2-3 years ago, but they occurred all the time. nowadays, despite a weird amount of lisfranc injuries to marquee players, EVERYONE and their mom is talking about them, even when they aren't relevant.
here's a google trends map to prove how ridiculous it's gotten lately. http://www.google.com/trends/explore#q=lisfranc In my opinion, you've been hearing about this type of injury much because journalists scramble to name drop it... it's all the rage. he reaches for his foot in pain? must be a lisfranc, because that's trending right now. this tweet by schefter is the perfect example. injury was never a lisfranc, he just had to throw the word in there. since when did the lisfranc become the new acl, as if "every fan in the stadium was in fear that it might have been a lisfranc"... http://t.co/Ec0oVF4o i was pissy and e-mailed deadspin. this article is the result. http://deadspin.com/5954330/what-exa...-injury-anyway ![]() Last edited by Ronnie Tsunami; 10-23-2012 at 04:58 PM.. |

i actually tore this tendon in high school and had to have surgery which ended my JR season early. the healing time table was about 3 months 1st month crutches second month walking boot 3rd month waiting for the bones to heal in my foot. what the ligament does is hold ur big toe to the rest of ur foot so they insert a screw to prevent the ligament from stretching and it allows it to heal. after 90 days the screw came out and all i had to deal with was the tenderness of touch to the area. these guys in the long term with the injury wont have anything to worry about from my JR to SR year i gained strength and speed while losing the ability to do squats deadlifts and lunges for three months of my off season

I thought I had a lisfranc injury once when I was playing softball. But it turns out my foot just kind of hurt, and I kept playing.

I was running and felt my quads tighten up. I guess that was a lisfranc injury. It took me days to get over that. I had another lisfranc injury when I was weightlifting and I strained my deltoid. True story.

Your names is James Brooks? That's creepy, that's my best friends name. Are you secretly him? Have you been trolling the OM all this time? Do you actually hate the Saints?

I guess this is better than you posting a link to an article you wrote on Bleacher Report. Barely better, but still a little better.
