We weren't ready for them to run a no huddle offense for nearly the entire game. It's not really that complicated.

Yes and every game is played on an equal plane. Clearly, the Chiefs were better than 90 percent of the league last year because they beat Green Bay

Way too simplistic with turnovers, lots of them today in Pats game.

Maybe no huddle but didn't we run a no huddle in that game.

Pats had their way with us for most of that game, be real .

Joe Mays. Getting at least 2 first downs on 3 and long because of a slow MLB who can't cover (don't know why he is ever in at all, much less on 3rd downs) made a big difference.

If the opposing team has 1 more turnover than you you have a 60% chance of wining. If they have two more turnovers than you you have a 75% chance to win and it goes up from there.

Do not turn the ball over and get turnovers and you'll win.

There were three things that happened in the Jets-Pats game:

1. Both Hernandez/Gronk were nowhere near 100% and were visibly slower.

2. The Jets front 7 did an excellent job in being aggressive at the line and using their LBers to really fill rushing lanes - our LBers collectively sucked in that game.

3. The DBs played physical in jamming Welker/Lloyd effectively - we didn't.

4. The Pats didn't run no-huddle all that much compared to our game.

Playing the short passing game... Remember when the ravens found out they could jam our receivers and play closer to the LOS... Teams followed and effectively neutered Mcdaniels offense. Allowing free releases, poor tackling, not getting set is where we failed

Duh, that is because Air Orton is better than Aaron Rodgers, hands down. I can't believe we gave up that guy to get that Peyton Manning fool. Elway is tearing this team apart!

It's particularly that first thing (free releases). Our linebackers have no ability to jam up tightends as they come off of the LOS. Miller is on the strong side and while he's decent in coverage, he's still having trouble getting guys jammed up.

When you play the ultimate rhythm offense you have to be able to disrupt that. Look at the teams that play the Patriots well. The Seahawks, Jets, and Giants are all extremely physical up-front with linebackers who can jam well and cover guys up underneath.

For better or worse, we just can't seem to find someone (particularly) in the middle to play that role.

This is kind of why I have lost faith in this coaching staff
The Cardinals showed how to slow them down
Seahawks had success jamming them as well

We came into the game with a Bob Slowick like gameplan
I don't think Del Rio really knows what he is doing

Yes, I realize that but the point was about how the Jets defense didn't have it's top blown off the back end because those guys were slower so it allowed their LBers to attack more around the line of scrimmage than ours who were running around in circles in coverage.

Not true.

Our coverages were changed around a lot.

Go back and count the amount of times Mays attempted to jam Welker or their TEs at the line.

Mays not only missed completely but lost steps in coverage as a result. He wasn't asked to go around in coverage a lot but specifically in between the hash marks over the middle. With such limited area he STILL failed misereably to even jam a guy in Welker who was half his size and failed to keep up with them to make the tackle when they did catch the ball.

Combine that with his awful run defense and it completely changed the shape of our defense.

I don't know about the Cardinals but the Seahawks have one the best collective DBs who are very physical and very good in coverage. Our safeties are not.

Their LBers are also much better in coverage.
