Seriously though, I would like to know when the side judge spotted the illegal substance and confiscated it. I am just curious as I don't think it had any impact on the play. The defense got to Phyllis and the guy is a scared coward when you get any kind of hit on him.

Funny stuff!

Why would they risk getting caught over stickem...you can't wear too much of it or it would be obvious. Did they really think it's an advantage. Bunch of bozos!

Well apparently they were trying to be sneaky. Per Pro Football Talk an equipment guy brought out a towel and for some reason something caught the eye of an official. He grabbed the towel and gave it to the Broncos for them to see and then to the league.

I will have to go back and look at the timeouts on the DVR and see if anything pops out. Damn commercial breaks make seeing this stuff hard though!

Actually, according to one story I read the league was investigating them even before the Monday night game.

I read that too. The refs were looking for the Cheat...errr I mean the Charger's to do that and then bust them when they did. I wonder if they might have to forfeit a victory as well. That would be interesting.

Where did you read that? I wouldn't consider this in the same league as Spygate or the Bounty stuff. Unless they have been trying to cover it up or something.

It is in the rule book that stickum type substances are illegal and punishable by the forfiture of draft choice(s).

I do not remember where i read that, but I believe it is listed like that. I'm sure there will be a fine on top of it and I am sure it will cost Turner and his staff their jobs.

EDIT:

If found guilty, the Chargers will face a very stiff fine and could even be forced to forfeit draft picks. Of course, the severity of the punishment comes down to how many people knew about what was going on and how long it had been happening.
