I'm enjoying the tired old skanks getting their asses kicked by the relatively young tigers.

I was happy for the Tigers and their fans but, wow, that was one bad hair piece that the owner had on.

Mike Ilitch is a good owner who is doing whatever he can to try and get the Tigers another World Series win....but a win would be the first under his ownership.
Ilitch does have a bad hair piece and looks like a little old lady. |

Yeah, to his credit, he's spent a lot of money during a really down economy.

Congrats SSJ and houghtam.
Hey houghtam, is Leyland still the "leader of the sackless"? ![]()

I said I would come back here and admit I was wrong, and here I am. I. Was. Wrong. It may have been him just telling it like it is and saying let us play all the games before you judge us, or maybe they were this good all along. Either way, I'm willing to forgive and forget this season's poor start, chalk it up to chemistry, and enjoy the next 4-7 games, whatever the outcome. LET'S GO TIGERS! ![]() |

Too bad St. Louis beat my Tigers in 5 games. A bud and I hit Ticketmaster when they went on sale and got lucky to land a couple of tickets for Game 6. I think the key to our success in getting the tickets was to go for a later game right off the bat instead of trying for tickets earlier in the series. That strategy bit us in the ass, as the series didn't go 6 games, but you also might get lucky and see the series go 6 or 7 games and get to be there for the determining game. I went to Game 4 of the 2006 ALDS against Oakland....the Tigers won the series in that game and it was pretty cool to be there and see it. I don't think I'll go to any of the World Series games in Detroit, unless some tickets somehow fall in my lap. Last edited by SouthStndJunkie; 10-19-2012 at 12:16 AM.. |

I knew it, all Detroit had to do was get their pitching in line. The ALCS MVP was their pitching staff.
Allowed 6 runs in 4 games, 1 shutout and two 1 run allowed games. Even Sanchez is throwing well. |

While I don't at all disagree that Detroit pitched well, the Yankees were just in a dreadful and inexplicable hitting slump. They didn't hit well against Baltimore, either. The Yankees scored the second most runs in baseball in the regular season, and had the highest team OPS, and yet just couldn't buy a hit. Cano, Granderson, and Swisher were particularly awful. Just one of those things I guess. Bad timing.

Do you think that the Tigers woke up this morning and realized that they will probably have to face the Cardinals and went, "Oh ****..."

I'm not a Tigers fan, but I'd venture to guess they'll be confident that they can beat anybody. Not that they will, but why would they be afraid of the Cardinals? I think a fair argument can be made that the Tigers are the better team, no?

I am pretty sure that the tigers have more talent on paper. But how do you kill a team that refuses to die?

I think St. Louis needs to take care of San Francisco first before looking ahead to the Tigers.
It looks like the Giants will force a Game 6, as they are up 5-0 in the 8th inning. The next 2 games are in San Francisco. That series is far from over....I hope it goes 7 games. |

The Cardinals are hard to keep down. Hopefully, they are able to finish off the Giants.
Every "expert" had the Tigers sweeping, or winning in 5 in 2006. Keith Law, notably, had the 'Tigers in 3'. |
