so you have to be one of the best returners of your generation to be feared? Gordon returned 3 in one season and 6 for a career. He probably wasn't going to be feared until he did one more time though.

The last guy that was a threat to take it to the house was Eddie Royal. Sorry but we have nothing but crap for punt return with Leonhard or leonard or however its spelled, he's done nothing but catch the damn ball, he's not a threat to run one back.
I would rather have the potential on every punt to take it to the house or at least break off a big one 1 out of 10 times then average 5 yards all year long. You are not going to make a difference with 5 extra yards of field position, but one punt return for a TD can be the difference between winning a game and losing, which in this league could be the difference in making the playoffs or not. IMHO this was a great move with very little downside and major potential upside. |

Eddie's 91 receptions are second most in NFL history for a rookie, behind only Anquan Boldin who had 101. His 980 yards and five touchdowns are both Broncos rookie records. He was seventh in the league among wide receivers in receptions, and sixth in the NFL in total yards.
Early in the 2009 season, Royal became the 4th fastest player in NFL history to reach 100 career receptions. On October 19, 2009, Royal became the first player in Broncos history, and only the 11th player to date in National Football League history, to return a kickoff (93 yards) and a punt (71 yards) for touchdowns in the same game, leading undefeated Denver to a 34-23 win over the San Diego Chargers. Wasted potential!! I think he would thrive in the Broncos offense now with Manning, wr bubble screen to eddie ftw, Cry me a River can't find morbidly obese Antonio Gates much less get Eddie the ball, not to mention Norv is an idiot and the Chargers are morons for paying 6mil guaranteed only to bench the guy. |

I'm going on the record with this one. I mother ****ing love this signing. He is electric, and hopefully we find more uses than just kick returns. Kudos to the FO for trying to make this team better as the season rolls on.
Now, can we find a MLB that doesn't have his head up his ass please? |

It is a good signing IMO. He has the kind of speed the Broncos have not had in a long time in the return game. Field position is key in the NFL and this guy could help in a big way.

Gordon was a consistent feared threat. He was the best punt returner in the NFL in 1997 and 1998. Gordan returned two punts for a TD in one half.

I'm thinking Jim Leonhard is standing on the sidelines right now humming a Toby Keith song.....
wonder if those who hated Jim returning punts love his hands now? |

Our coaches are utterly inept. We have a genuine talent in Tebow but they can't use him and then trade him. Then we end up signing losers like this clown.
