My wife hates politics. Makes TV watching interesting in our house. But when she walked by the living room last night and saw Biden she was disgusted. Mind you she was already voting Romney, but today she said the ladies at her office (In liberal Boulder) did not like Biden at all. Those women for all my wife knows were and are pretty undecided voters.

Perception is bigger than fact. Nowhere is that more evident, than debates. The first debate showed that Romney "won", because Obama was more laid back. In reality, Romney was talking a million miles an hour. The only thing that people "heard" was the Big Bird comment. This debate showed Biden essentially shouting over Ryan. That led to the accusations of "rudeness". Style over substance is fascinating...

From my perspective this was predictably along party lines. On both facebook and in the office the women who were pro-Romney/anti-Obama were complaining about how rude Biden was, while those who are pro-Obama were saying "go get 'em Joe!" So I think any real impact from Biden's demeanor will be negligible. One side will complain and criticize, the other will be energized.

I agree for the most part. But I do think for some undecideds it doesn't go over well.

Upon Raddatz's question on how their shared Catholic faith informs their policies:

Quote:
Biden pointed out that he personally agrees with the Church on abortion but doesn't want to impose his religious beliefs on others. Which is, of course, the heart of the answer to both the abortion and contraception questions. Raddatz gave both men the chance to discuss their faith. Ryan pointed out that faith informs everything he does; Biden took pains to highlight that as important as his faith is to him, he wouldn't use it to force others to adhere to his beliefs. And as it happens, most Catholic voters don't really rate abortion and contraception at the top of their list of concerns.

Huntsman saw in Iowa how wacko the republican party was and he knew he did not stand a chance. Unlike Willard Huntsman has principals and was going to change every one of his positions to pacify the Tea Party.

But I can tell you guys are going to try and pretend this was some kind of ass-whooping. Go look at the polls and read what was said. I don't agree with PriceJ that Ryan did too much, but I think his game plan was to play conservative. Biden won on some things, but lost on style.

Take a look

http://www.examiner.com/article/poll...inst-joe-biden

Where did I say Biden 'won everything? Answer me this.

I said I didn't see where Ryan won a single section of the debate. See the difference here? Of course there were instances (few but they were there) where Ryan traded punches instead of cutesy little fluffy stories with puppy dog eyes. Some topics went to Biden a couple could could be seen as a draw due to ideological differences. But did Ryan WIN a single round here? I asked you to show me where and you just ran from it.

And for all those pooh-poohing the VP debat, I ask you this. Do you believe that Ryan is ready for the office of the president in case of circumstances?

I think what he did do was give the Dems what they wanted to see: A Democrat attacking a Republican to avenge the Obama beat down. Geroge Stephanopolis seems to agree. Clearly you're all here insisting it was a "beat down" and "no contest." But don't you see that's because you agree with Biden? If that was the goal, then fine. But Like I keep saying: Debates are about winning America, not about winning the debate. Shouting down and arrogantly laughing at your opponent might make your core base feel good because of the resentment for the opposition they hold, but it's a cheap thrill that doesn't sell well to moderates. If you look bad "winning" the debate, but it hurts you in the election was it worth it?

It's a VP debate so it won't make much difference, however I am not sure outside of Biden firing up his base, that this changed anything other than cement Biden's reputation as something of a lose cannon.
Where did I say Biden won everything? I said Ryan didn't win a single topic IMO. Of course there were moments they exchanged blows. Understand the difference? Answer me this first... then we can move on.

Yes, that's exactly what he is saying. I know this may come as a surprise to you, but in debates, it's actually possible for there not to be a clear winner. Though, seeing as how the intelligence in your posts has dropped off the face of a cliff over the past few months since your best Jesus-buddy Mitt started tanking, I wouldn't be surprised if you weren't familiar with the word "draw".

Mormonism is a cult. Don't let anybody else tell you otherwise. There is a reason a whole town shot John Smith after he died.

Not so fast. CNN fact checking just in.

Paul Ryan accusations on Benghazi security - The State Department handles security requests NOT the office of the President.

Now for the House republicans cutting funding for embassy security. Bidens claims were TRUE.

Ryan levels more accusations that Marines should have been attached in Bengazi. OOOOOOpsy! False again. That's not the Marines job. Benghazi was only a temporary office not holding classified documents or equipment. Ryans claims again ARE FALSE!!!!!!

... 0 for 3... and this was the one topic that Ryan was said to have actually traded blows. I myself gave him credit for trading blows this round.

So all the traded blows by Ryan here was Bullshiat! Should have known.

Vice President Joe Biden served up the worst gaffe of any of the 2012 debates, in a moment that will harm not only him but also his boss. Sure, the obnoxious grimacing and the mannerisms will be mocked relentlessly, but it was his egregious misstatement on Benghazi that will now plague the Obama-Biden ticket.
The exchange went like this:
MARTHA RADDATZ: And they wanted more security there.
BIDEN: But we weren’t told they wanted more security there. We did not know they wanted more security there.
That was just flat-out false. As many fact-checkers, reporters and pundits instantly pointed out, multiple State Department employees testified just the day before that their pleas for more security were denied. Josh Rogin recollected:
