wow...you're jack kennedy now. There is no cohesion to these debates so far. Romney's arrogant smirk was met by Obamas vacant knowing stare(at his podium). Ryans slightly less arrogant and unrefined smirk is finding it more difficult to lie to a practiced and cantankerous old man. If I believed in god, I would ask for its help to save this country.

He may have been chuckling at the moderator allowing him to slide by while not answering Benghazi's requests to Washington for more protection.

Seems like many find Biden's laughs annoying and not helping him at all. Check all these comments:

They're = They are. So basically you're saying "They are are a handful of liberals around here who will state he did great."

Just a heads up.

, I see why you'd rather focus on that than the debate Liberals usually resort to that when they have nothing else. I'll look for you to correct spider's posts since his grammar is the worst, though I doubt that will happen.

Both guys did what I said they should not have done, which made for an entertaining debate. Joe Biden was awfully aggressive and the constant smirking and laughing really didn't help him. Ryan looked like the budget cruncher whose numbers didn't add up. His defense and explanation of the Romney budget plan was woefully inadequate.

It simply blows me away that Americans think that either of these parties represent them. Blows me away. Our country has been ravaged by debt and trillions of dollar shuffled into private pockets, bankers, and thieves. Millions of homes basically stolen and purchased by "undisclosed purchasers in bulk". We're fighting wars on numerous fronts while our borders basically go unchecked. We're basically throwing monopoly money at one another now which is steadily becoming more worthless due to inflation which they won't even admit it exists. I could go on. Battle on people. The established parties like the sheep to fight one another.

We deserve everything that is coming our way. Be ready folks.

He did great showing off his teeth. Laughing sometimes is one thing, but when it's that frequent, you out yourself as a total faker.

I think the moderator was a retard. Besides not timing responses, she would ask a question and then interrupt with another question when the question she asked was being answered.

Moderator was terrible. She seemingly led Ryan into every question. It was a debate, not an interview you dunce! Wouldn't let Ryan answer or respond fully, but let Biden going off. It's almost as if Obama went to her wedding or something.

Interesting the debate. I think Biden went overkill with the smiling and laughing. He should have reigned it in a bit, especially on the sensitive issues. Biden had better responses on foreign policy and Medicare, which I expected. I thin Ryan pretty much destroyed the idea that the Rich "can pay for evrerything" as a general philosophy and again, predictably had better answers on economic issues.

Biden did a much better job selling his message to America and was better able to keep his views simplified. I think the smirking/laughing was too much and at times he became too aggressive.

Ryan was able to stay calm and stuck to his answers but got lost in the intricacies and by allowing Biden and the moderator to push him around, I think he can across as "just some guy." It's strange that Sarah Palin did better against Biden than Ryan did.

I would give the debate to Biden, but I am curious to see the fallout. Biden came at Ryan like the left wants to see conservatives attacked: Disrespectful, dismissive, sarcastic, and at times outright hostile. This may have been a "let's excite the voter base" play. I think his appeal to the middle class was good, but I think he may have come across as too hostile and at times pretty arrogant. He interrupted the moderator and Ryan several times and acted like he couldn't take anything that was being brought up as even remotely credible. The internet is already latching on to "the smirk" so it's going to be an issue. This is what I thought they might do and if all they wanted was to was energize the base, then that's fine. However if it plays like it's starting to: too much, too arrogant, too disrespectful, it may not pan out with the middle voters as much.

For Ryan, he needs more experience. Biden beat on some issues, and on other issues where Ryan was more substantive and supported by facts, Biden did a better job of re-framing the argument around parameters people can identify with or just shifting the argument all together. Ryan needs to realize who he's really talking to. Hint: It wasn't the moderator.

At the end of the day I don't believe VP debates make too much of a difference. Ultimately this is a fight between Romney and Ryan.

Ryan came off as a lesser figure. Biden cinched his connection with Americans at their kitchen tables. He had more warmth and showed that he understands and cares on a more personal level. Ryan came across as a cold wonk more dedicated to concepts than people.

The mods are always lib-biased, it's nothing new. I think Ryan handled her well enough and he put Biden in his place when need be. Helmet hair is always a bad sign, it usually means feminist.

It just proves that bias rules perception. I guarantee you 100%, if you go back and run a clock on these two guys, Ryan had nearly double the talking time.

I totally agree with this. And she did it to both sides. It's like at times she wasn't listening but was thinking about what question to ask next. Typical journalist.
