Broncos claim Holliday in hopes of boost to return game

Waived yesterday by the Texans, return specialist Trindon Holiday wasn’t out of work long.

According to his agent’s Twitter account, Holiday was claimed Thursday by the Denver Broncos.

The 5-foot-5 Holiday scored three touchdowns on returns in the preseason, but his regular season numbers weren’t as impressive, averaging 19.4 yards per kickoff return and 9.2 yards per punt return.

Of course, the Broncos are averaging an anemic 18.9 yards per kickoff and 7.4 per punt, so he looks like an upgrade.

To make space for Holliday on the roster, the Broncos waived rookie safety Duke Ihenacho.

so who gets cut? Has to be either J. Thomas, D. Ihenaco, Cadwell, or S. Johnson. Can't think of anyone else unless they decide Green can play in FB sets or they decide to let Moreno go.

Dude is fast, that's for sure. I remember when he was at LSU, but I didn't even know he was in the NFL until preseason. Hopefully he can help us out!

i'm not down with this. what has he done against front line NFL players, not scrubs? the guy essentially does one thing, so if he doesn't even do that well, wtf are we signing him for? It seems to me that Elway's really just trying to catch lightning in a bottle here, which is fine, i guess but not likely. here's hoping.
