I've got news for you. Unemployment (and underemployment) is going to remain considerably higher than normal for months, if not years.
the guy spent loads of money on his stimulus bills.. do not even want to know how much was wasted there..

I do know that another 150 millions was sent down another "green" rat hole..

$150 million in tax-payer funds were given to LG Chem in order to make batteries for the electric Chevy Volt and Ford Focus. Guess what has happened?

President Obama touted it in 2010 as evidence "manufacturing jobs are coming back to the United States," but two years later, a Michigan hybrid battery plant built with $150 million in taxpayer funds is putting workers on furlough before a single battery has been produced.

Workers at the Compact Power manufacturing facilities in Holland, Mich., run by LG Chem, have been placed on rotating furloughs, working only three weeks per month based on lack of demand for lithium-ion cells.

The facility, which was opened in July 2010 with a groundbreaking attended by Obama, has yet to produce a single battery for the Chevrolet Volt, the troubled electric car from General Motors. The plant's batteries also were intended to be used in Ford's electric Focus.
and now I quote Romney "You don't pick the winners and losers. You just pick the losers."

A real full time job, like being a failed car repair dude? Nice.

I suspect they are worried that light that is shone on them especially with sesame street being a profitable center means cuts.. to the billions spent on PBS..

I went to school in ND. I was born and raised in SD. I spent over 6 years in ND after HS. I moved back to South Dakota, that is where all my family is besides a few places like Arizona, Iowa and Minnesota. My grandma had terminal brain cancer and my family wanted me to come back home to help out with her final wishes. I got hired at the job I've talked to you a week before she died. That is why I am back here. To take care of business. Sometimes you have to put *your* life on hold to do stuff for others. Glad to be back here.

You mean the stimulus that most economists say was a factor in keeping the economy from imploding? And the many economists say should have been larger? That stimulus? Oh, that's right, you're going to vote for the guy who's going to increase spending, decrease revenues, but has a magical plan he won't tell us about which will cut the deficit. All while riding a unicorn.

Dammit, that Obama also rigged the jobless claims.

Rut Ro. Me thinks that I was correct about officials that were appointed by obama were more concerned about keeping their jobs than seeking the truth.

How the hell could this happen.

Saw that also this morning.
Quote:
This is just getting stupid. After expectations of a rebound in initial claims from 367K last week (naturally revised higher to 369K), to 370K (with the lowest of all sellside expectations at 355K), the past week mysteriously, yet so very unsurprisingly in the aftermath of the fudged BLS unemployment number, saw claims tumble to a number that is so ridiculous not even CNBC's Steve Liesman bothered defending it, or 339K. Ironically, not even the Labor Department is defending it: it said that "one large state didn't report some quarterly figures." Great, but what was reported was a headline grabbing number that is just stunning for reelection purposes. This was the lowest number since 2008. The only point to have this print? For 2-3 bulletin talking points at the Vice Presidential debate tonight. Everything else is now noise.

It is also sad that the US "economy" has devolved to such trivial data fudging on a week by week basis, which makes even the Chinese Department of Truth appear amateurish by comparison. Needless to say, Not Seasonally Adjusted initial claims jumped by 26K to 327K in the past week but who's counting. Finally, what is the reason for ongoing QEternity if the employment situation is now back to normal. Finally, in completely ignored news, because who needs global trade when you have toner cartridge, and generally ink, the US trade deficit in August rose by 4.1% to $44.2 billion, on expectations of a deterioration to $44.0 billion. Then again nobody talks about the US trade deficit during presidential debates so all good here.
Read more here. http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2012-1...low-lowest-exp

Does anyone now really believe that the morons in BLS did not THINK something was wrong or are they just that corrupt to think it would not come out until after the elections.

These numbers have always been subject to revision, up or down....no matter who is in office.

Let's see which State didn't report which statistics. For now, it's just speculation and the impact unknown.

Edit: It looks like CA, the numbers will get revised next week, as usual.

Not speculation at all the BLS has confirmed it.

Read the articles that were quoted.

As for revisions absolutely but rarely on the scale that this will prove out to be.

I'm guessing the silence from most will be deafening. Just as it is whenever they get embarrassed.

Iirc CA has historically had high numbers. And probably even higher numbers than average for those that have given up looking for work.

The 'speculation' was which State and what impact.

As of this post, the specific State hasn't been identified. Therefore, speculation.
