As long as this defense is soft in the middle, It'll be hard for the ends to shine.

Well I dunno but me thinks losing Ty Warren really hurt us.
Wolfe is ok and all but really no consistent middle push. This would seriously help the ends. We will be drafting or hopefully picking up via free agency a monster guy for the middle of the DL. |

I'm seeing a trend, not a single one of our dlineman can get off a block. All of them bull rush.... I thought Wolfe was tenacious? I'm not seeing it, I know he's a rookie but when your only move is to bull rush... It's not going to create great results.

Some of that was playing read and react at the POA instead of playing penetration. DEN looked totally different on the DL when they played aggressive with their fronts instead of passive. That has been my biggest gameplanning and playcalling question against NE.

This was my concern with the FO approach this offseason. Although injuries can't be predicted, Warren's recent injury history should have at least caused them not to rely so heavily on his return. The selections of Wolfe & Jackson don't help much if they are playing more at DE instead of DT.
Elway & Fox's assertion the DT position wasn't as bad as we thought seems just as laughable now as it was when they first said it. They must acquire a young, true DT this offseason or we'll be having this conversation again next year. |
