No.

I can support decriminalization or lesser penalties for possession in certain cases, but not legalization. Why on earth would I want to support the creation of a whole new industry that peddles brain-poisoning crap (read: THC) to our children and young people?

And lower the drinking age to 18? Are you insane?

If you can vote and die for your country, then you should be able to legally buy a beer.

They shouldn't peddle it to children, but adults should be allowed to do what they want as long as it doesn't harm others.

Not sure how this argument makes sense.

What do voting and military service have to do with alcohol consumption?

Problem is, all too frequently the use of mind-altering drugs does harm others - sometimes in obvious ways, sometimes in less obvious ways.

And I wouldn't exactly call recreational drug users "adults" - even if their chronological ages indicate otherwise.

It's not just what I think - it's a fact.

THC is a fat soluble molecule with a moderately long half-life. It bonds with fat cells in the body. The three most fat-laden systems of the body: 1) brain 2) reproductive system, and 3) immune system.

Over time, THC can adversely impact all three systems.

Problem is, the damage takes a long time to become obvious, so it's easy to believe nothing's wrong.

This fact has never stopped the alcohol industry.

I'm in favor of the legalization of pot, just like alcohol it should be set at 21.
