I watched him in the preseason and to me he is much more explosive than either Dressen or Tamme. He is almost like a WR and I thought that is what he was, a WR/TE. Now I heard that he is the best blocking TE on the roster. Is he going to be an impact player for this offense?

I was hearing in the pre-season we might line him up at FB sometimes and make him run routes out of the backfield ala Dallas Clark's role in Indy when he was that TE/H-back hybrid player.
Doubt he sees many snaps early but who knows, he seems like a hard working kid who has his head in the right place apparently from what I hear. I wish him the best especially if it can help the Broncos out. |

I'd rather him active than Gronkowski at FB this game.

Has the ability to be a real good tight end if he can stay healthy. Has great speed and quickness. Good vertical threat. Was a much better value where we got him last year in the draft as opposed to wasting a pick on Julius Thomas.

These days you can never have enough of these "hy-brid" players...ask the team we're playing Sunday..
I thought Virgil looked good in the pre-season... |

He is our best Run Blocking TE. not to bad at catching ...
He is not a long term guy. we should use what we got time wise out of him . he is on borrowed time. |

He may not be a long term guy, yet. Im taking a wait and see stance with him. He could very well end up being crazy good.

Has he even played a regular season game? I don't recall hearing his name called or seeing his name on the stat sheet

Green's gonna help a lot when we run that 11 TE formation on Sunday.

I like the thought of them moving him around like Dallas Clark. Unless he is brain dead I think he will make an impact this year. He will add some punch to a unit that is solid but unspectacular.

I would wager that next season he is ahead of at least one of Dreesen or Tamme on the depth chart next season.

Guarantee he will be there sunday on some level at least, unless he shows himself to have fallen out of shape during his practices.
The opportunity to present New England with some new wrinkles in the game would be something that wont be passed up. Get it? Passed up? (Just in case ya missed it) Anyway, I look for three TE formations, and Virgil at the FB slot as well. Lets mix it up Fox! |

wouldn't stun me to see him used like Cooley was in Washington in his prime. TE,H-Back, Full back at times.
not saying he will be the same type of impact player like Cooley but his usage could be similar. |

![]() As it stands now the Denver passing game to the TE goes like this. Run route catch ball get tackled. From what I have seen as limited as it has been. Green is much faster and has more agility than either of the TEs now on the roster. Plus they say he is the best blocker?? I know a lot of this is about route running and holding on ot the ball and I guess we'll see how good Green is at doing those things. |

Has Julius Thomas been the third TE so far on gameday? If so, I imagine Green can contribute more. Also, maybe as stated above it's better to have Green active and Rob G. inactive.
