Hopefully next season the Dodgers can figure out how to sustain that good start through an entire season. Is Mattingly the right guy to get it done?

With a HPB in his first plate appearance, Trout pretty much sealed Cabrera's Triple Crown. He'll now need to go 4-4 in 5 plate appearances to have any shot.
Go Tigers! |

Sick run by the A's and choke job by the Rangers. Love to see Yankees slip to the other WC spot so one of those teams will be gone after 1 game. Glad we could take 2 out of 3 from the Rangers to help their slide. In Seattle, right when the A's game was over, they had two employees take down each of those teams flags and switch them on the pole. Pretty fast at updates I guess.

Miggy comes out of the game in the 4th inning tonight to a standing ovation from the crowd in Kansas City.
Classy gesture by their fans and Kansas City's players and coaches who acknowledged Miggy as well. |

After a tough year (losing Pineda before the season, losing Rivera early, being without Gardner most of the year, losing Pettitte for much of the year, having A-Rod miss a good part of the season, and having Sabathia go on the DL twice) the Yankees are closing in on both the division title and the AL's best record.

Austin Jackson with 2 hits tonight to hit the .300 mark, which he really wanted this season.
Nice season for him....he cut down on the strike outs and hit for average with a nice dash of power (16 HRs) for a leadoff hitter. Plus, he has a stellar glove and good range in center field. Jim Leyland took him out of the game to make sure he stays at .300 for the season. |

Curtis Granderson hit his 42nd and 43rd home runs tonight....and the Yankees are still in the 7th inning.
The best Granderson could do is tie Miggy at 44 HRs, which would still give Miggy the Triple Crown. It would be nice to see him win it outright though. |

Sweet....it's finally official.
Miggy wins the Triple Crown. First time since Yaz did it in 1967. Kick ass. |

Have a team I like, the Braves, in the playoffs and two I love, the A's and Tigers. This year I can watch the playoffs. Routing very hard for the latter two, probably want the Tigers more but love the A's too. Conflicting and it will be a good series.
My heart goes out to Neshek and his wife. Such a tragedy. |

I have playoff tickets to the Nationals. Im hoping Atlanta wins vs St Louis tonight.
I want the Nationals to run the table, DC would be a lovely party this time of year. |

St. Louis beats Atlanta 6-3 in the one game wild card playoff.
Washington will play St. Louis. Cincinnati and San Francisco play in the other National League series. I'll probably root for Nati and Washington in those series. |

Unless Chipper Jones pulls a Brett Favre, that was his last game as a player.
Props on an excellent Hall of Fame career. First ballot without a doubt, in my opinion. I love to see a player stay his entire career with one team....it's old school and happens less and less in modern day baseball. Last edited by SouthStndJunkie; 10-05-2012 at 05:56 PM.. |
