I am starting to look for plane tickets to kauai Hawaii for next July (25th and coming back that following thursday or friday) I am a rookie when it comes to looking for tickets. When is the best time to get them? Now, in a month, 3 months before? Which sites have the best prices? I could fly out of chicago, minneapolis, or omaha though chicago would be my first choice. Thanks in advance!

As early as possible, and you should be able to find them with 1 stop for under $1000

Ya plus it is a United hub and United pretty much runs all the flights out to Kauai, even if your tix say its a different airline.

I usually check southwest first, and use that as a barometer for other flights....JUST booked my thanksgiving trip to Cali..$252 round.trip from Saturday to Saturday DIA to John Wayne, and they're both mid morning nonstop flights. Everything else i found started at 350 and up!


I'm actually thinkin about buying a last minute ticket for the monday night game next week....they usually have KIILLER rates the day or two before

Just booked a flight to Philidelphia on Oct 31st for $250. Was shocked at the price, but this was through Frontier Airlines website.

I use Orbitz a lot. Heck, you can even type "Denver to Phoenix" into Google and it'll give you a neat result. Kayak is good as well.

Not bad on both for prices. Essentially $125/$126 each way. That's nothing. Pretty damn good actually.

I just purchased a trip to go on vacation over the holidays. Looking 4ward to it!

this is the best policy.. IF you have a probelem then it is the airlines proble..

if you use a automated travel agent web site like orbitz expedia travelocity and there is a mist connect canceled flight the airlines will try to weasel out of it and tell you to call that travel agency to get it fixed especially if it is ciaos at teh airport which it usually is with canceled or major delayed flights..

I'd use various sites to compare re the fares and look at the routings and then go to the airlines wed sites to the fare..

another hint is to call a Travel agent who can sell packages that can give commissions .. sometimes booking flights and hotel or even a car rental will allow them to get you even cheaper seats..

Might even be worth the hassle of doing SWA to HNL and taking a separte flight to LIH.. thank way you get the bags fly free and ultimately may save you money but will have at least one extra stop..

ask the travel agent to use Blue sky vacations they are the best.. You may have to be flexible on departure cities..

It is pretty expensive. You should probably drive. Plus, when you get there, you can run over the wild chickens.
