Final Score: Denver Broncos - 42 oakland raiders - 13
Peyton Manning will feast on oaklands patchwork secondary who is giving up 266 yards per game. Look for Peyton to throw for 400+ yards and 4 touchdowns. The cap saving Shawntae Spencer - Ron Bartell experiment is a unmitigated failure. Neither are starting this week and as a quick fix, they moved free saftey Michael Huff to corner (a position he hasn't played since his sophmore year in college) his inaugural performance was labeled “spectacularly bad”. Vaunted duo of Richard Seymour & Tommy Kelly whose contracts total close to $90 million dollars have a combined ONE sack. The defense has a total of three or the same number as Von Miller. In another quick fix move they signed Andre Carter off the couch to help their anemic pass rush. Darren McFragile aka Run E.M.T. has a paultry 3.8 yards per carry. Take away that one run of 64 yards against a decimated Steelers defense and it drops to 3.0. Broncos defense who just faced Arian Foster and Michael Turner are only giving up 3.3 yards per carry 91.0 yards per game. The 2011 AFC West leading rusher Willis McGahee is on pace for another 1200+ yard season with 10+ touchdowns and is averaging 4.3 yards per carry. While oaklands defense is giving up 4.2 per carry 116 + yards per game. Leading receiver is a nondescript tight end named Brandon Myers not one of the oft-injured track stars that can't stay on the field. Myers stats would only rank him third on the Broncos behind the AFC West's best receiving tandem of Eric Decker & Demaryius Thomas. After facing two of the arguably best teams in the league oakland will be a welcomed opponent on Sunday. Yes it's a rivalry game and yes Dennis Allen is looking to make a statement against his former employer...but as Sean Connery's character in the 'Untouchables' said (paraphrasing) "You don't bring a knife (or a D-Cell battery) to a gunfight ![]() |

As much as I hate to admit it, you guys will probably blow us out today. The only way the Raiders win is if they score around 35 points. That means holding the ball for long periods of time and scoring a TD on nearly every drive. And that isn't very likely.
Our defensive backfield is a patchwork of below average journeymen, new faces, and possibly our FS playing CB for the second week in a row. There's no way Manning doesn't tear that a new a-hole. ETA: Check that: Michael Huff, our starting free safety IS playing CB today. Christ. Oh well. The Donks still suck. Last edited by Bacillus Anthracis; 09-30-2012 at 08:05 AM.. |

Bacillus, are your other options so bad Huff is legitimately an upgrade over your previous starters, or is this Dennis Allen out-thinking himself as he was wont to do here in Denver?
