Adam Dunn's 2nd HR of the game gives the White Sox a 5-3 lead in the 8th inning.
The Indians could **** up a wet dream. |

Anibal Sanchez pitched a 3 hit shutout, as the Tigers beat the Royals 2-0 tonight.
Indians beat the White Sox 4-3 earlier today. The Tigers and White Sox are tied for the Central Division lead. 8 games left in the regular season. |

Tigers finally made us pay for playing poorly.
Feel free to actually step up and win a couple games at any time, fellas. It's like kind of a big deal at this point. ****ing get it together. This is ****ing ridiculous. The Indians are hot garbage...even more hot garbage than we are. Get it the **** together.

That said, it looks like neither of us have much faith in our team's ability to close out games or close out the season. The interesting thing is, I would put Detroit and Chicago's pitching up against any team in the league, especially when you're generally only talking about the top 3 or 4 starters come playoff time. We may be in the worst division in the AL (and possibly both leagues), but good pitching beats good hitting...most of the time. Even though they're now the only two options I don't like either of our teams' chances of winning the division lol...I like their chances in the playoffs, however. If all that drivel makes any sense. |

Now that the Tigers finally caught the WS I think the WS fold.
It has been a good 1st year for Ventura though. I expected more of the type of season the cub have had and didn't expect to be into baseball this late. Hope the Sox have one more Win streak in them. |

Anyone know outside of SOCAL (the area not the poster)that the Angels pitchers last night tied a record of 20 strikeouts in a 9 inning game? MLB network didnt mention it but did point out that Zach Greinke had 13 strikeouts in the first 5 innings and first to do so since 1900! He came out after that 5th inning with 110 pitches. Glad I was there with my kids and his breaking ball was sick. Infact, tied a record (with many others) with 4 strikeouts in one inning. We ended up getting 3 baseballs from the ump after the game so used balls from a historic game. Need to get those autographed by Greinke, Richards, Jepsen and Fieri. Screw Downs. He had no Ks and gave up 3 runs in 2/3rds of 1 inning. GO ANGELS...and Rangers!

I would also like to say thank you for taking Greinke out of the central. Sure, he's had some up and downs this season, but the Tigers have enough trouble with the Royals year in and year out...getting him out of there was definitely a help. |

****....Miggy just got robbed of what would have been his 43rd HR of the year.
Tigers and Royals tied up 4-4 in the 5th inning. White Sox up 3-1 on the Indians in the 2nd inning. |

I guess you missed the trade over a year ago that sent him to the Brewers.

Beautiful hard slide into 2nd base by Andy Dirks to break up a potential double play and allow the runner from 3rd base to score.
That gives the Tigers a 5-4 lead in the 8th inning. |

Kansas City's Billy Butler is a player that I think is a really good hitter.
His stats would look a lot beefier if he had some more guys on base to drive in and some protection in the lineup. |

I doubt it makes Sportscenter, but that was the single most beautiful play I've seen in the past month or so, and I watch a lot of freaking baseball.

Was Alex Rio's slide that won Chicago a game 5-4 vs you guys or KFC? They scored 2 runs to win down 4-5. HR's get boring, watching this kind of detail is the fun stuff.

![]() That's what I'm talking about. I love traditional baseball. I love the hit and run and the bunt just as much as the long ball. I love the gamesmanship. That's why I don't complain when a guy steps out of the batter's box or throws over to first. It only makes the game drag if you let it. Games only average to be about 20 minutes longer than they were 50 years ago. I also realize I could have just copied and pasted that trite quote from Crash Davis, but...I'm too cool for that. ![]() |
