Seeing thread title I knew this was about Cutler. He's always been an egotistical jerk. The last straw for me was the Rick Reilly piece about how he treated Elway. Unbelievable.

being combative with the media.
The media is irrelevant. He was combative with his teammate, which says more about Jay Cutler than some stupid radio show interview. The radio/media problems stem from his arrogance, bumping the guy that has your blind side in anger stems from a lack of accountability. Elite quarterbacks are nothing if not accountable.

the thing is Cutler is smart, that is, he can learn and execute any offense. He's physically gifted & can make all the throws and escape, evade the rush. He's got the tools to be a great NFL QB. It's just that he's immature. I don't know how else to explain it. He's never grown up and he doesn't really appear to be maturing as a man, as a leader, nor as an NFL QB which by default is the leader of the offense and of the team.

but, he is entertaining so he's got that going for him...

Jake Plummer called it years ago when he called Cutler the next Jeff George.

Thanks Al Bundy!

I love this quote in the article...
Marc Silverman, the other co-host of the show Tuesday, said he thought Cutler was letting things bug him during the game, such as bad blocking, dropped passes, play calling.

“This is just educated guesses at best. Correct?’’ Cutler said. “That’s the problem. These are guesses. You’re guessing. Admit that you’re guessing."

No, Silverman said.

“Admit yes, you are guessing. You’re guessing. How can you say that you aren’t guessing?’’

First, Cutler should admit to that and then add his horrible ints (3 of 4 were on him). Instead, he wants to be confrontational. Only thing I don't agree on from the article is that he is a journeyman QB. He could be based on attitude but he is better than that description. He is far from franchise, that is for sure. Frown Cannon with the lip, love it.

from now on, whenever i see a pic of Cutler being Cutler, i'm going to hear this phrase in my head, "DOOOOONNNNTTTTT CAAAARRRREEEEE."

Quote:
Friend is in a bar in Chicago during the off-season. He goes to the bathroom and sees Jay Cutler, hat on backwards, taking a piss at the urinal. So the guy starts going to the bathroom and says, “Hey, I’m a huge fan, also went to Vanderbilt… ”

Jay throws his head back, still pissing, eyes half-closed because he’s drunk, interrupts him with, “DOOOONNNNTTTTTT CAAAAAARRRREEEEEE.”

WHo knows if true but I will say bull****. Who would ever admit that they are a "huge fan" of Cutler. Well, besides SoCal.

I just dont care about Cutler anymore. He is not a Bronco, therefore I care what he does only when he plays against the Broncos. Then I want him to fail miserably.

Having said that, his now long history of being a jerk adds a little enjoyment when he fails. Im not talking about confronting the media, there are plenty of jerks in the media too, and I get a kick out of them getting theirs too. But the stories about Elway, Lynch and others (especially how he treats his "fans") make it perfectly clear that he is an douche. He is entitled to be an douche if he wants, but no-one (including himself) should be surprised when he is not well liked, and at some level it will eventually come home to roost in his wallet. His choice. I dont care.

IMHO, Im glad he is no longer here. I believe winning requires talent and execution, but winning it all requires leadership. I dont see anything that supports him as a leader. Good riddance, glad to be on another path.

You can analyze/bs all the X's and O's about Cutler but it's painfully obvious he cannot lead. He has never won a championship at any level. Not even high school. That was the big knock on him coming out of college. He just doesn't have the ability to rally a team around him. When the team drug his sorry ass to the NFC champ game and needed him most he flaked.
Trading him when we did was brilliant. We got huge value for an talented loser before everyone else figured out what a head case he is. Then McDaniels goes and blows all those draft picks. ARGHH. Pretty much a net wash for the franchise but a huge missed opportunity.

I'm glad someone else is running the show now and that Cutler is not our QB.
